Reading this article, I was amazed that grown people in congress would be playing games that most of us outgrew after Kindergarten. This so-called Freedom Caucus made a pact among themselves, that no one of them would make a commitment to vote to pass the ACA legislation, unless they consulted with the group and had their permission.

I wonder how the constituents of these individuals feel, when they realize their interests are not being represented, but rather those of an independent, renegade group, with its own, contrary agenda. Their jobs are supposed to be to promote the well-being of their own constituents and also those of the country as a whole. I don't like any of these self-organized coalitions, that are attempts to gain more power for the self-interests of these politicians.

Uh...the insurance companies wrote Obamacare.

This is how things work in DC.

Don't expect congress to do anything about healthcare until they are forced to do something.

Is this supposed to be a surprise? The same crowd has been doing this since Obama was elected. Meet the new congress, same as the old congress.

It's not a secret. Why the hyperbole? They make no bones about what they want. They were mentioned over and over as being a road block.

In that they blocked a bad bill, I'm OK with that. That they would likely try and block a good one would be another thing.

They actually did America a favor by blocking that abomination of a law. Regardless of what you think ObamaCare was or is, Ryan/Trump Card was FAR worse to middle America. Who voted in Trump, middle America.

Agreed.

The hidden mandate in Ryancare was far more draconian than the Obama one, and that is saying a lot.

Sounds like a good strategy. At least someone in government has gotten their act together. Face it, Ryan erred grotesquely in the whole handling of the situation.

Trump sabotaged it. How? Because he didn't write the damn thing himself like he was supposed to do. That's laziness.

I didn't intend to say that I was unhappy about the failing of the ACA bill. I only wanted to point out that not much that is beneficial to the majority of people, is going to make it through congress, with those "Freedom Caucus" obstructionists at work. Unless of course, the legislation appeals to enough of the Democrats.

Now, the latest news from Priebus about Trump, is that he intends to play nice with the Democrats for a change and try to coddle them into supporting some of his proposals. I don't need to advise them to be very wary and skeptical of these overtures. Why would anyone expect a colossal liar and manipulator to come bearing gifts, without some big strings attached? But will he be able to induce them into some devil's bargains? What is there that both Trump and the Democrats would want and that enough of the Republicans would support? I'm trying to come up with something, but maybe someone has some ideas about what that might be?

They are in bed with liberals. I think they are funded by Koch brothers to oppose Trump. The Ted Cruz people.
