And here you have it folks, direct from the mouth of our Idiot-in-Chief:

Quote:
"People don't realize, you know, the Civil War — if you think about it, why? People don't ask that question, but why was there a Civil War? Why could that one not have been worked out?"
Remember that show, "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" I think in this case the answer is pretty obvious. Someone needs to send Trump a fifth grade history book.

And on Andrew Jackson:

Quote:
"He was a very tough person, but he had a big heart. He was really angry that he saw what was happening with regard to the Civil War. He said, “There's no reason for this.”
Again, a fifth grade history book, to teach Trump that, in fact, Andrew Jackson said no such thing, mainly because he was DEAD for more than a decade before the Civil War began.

And Trump thinks President "Trail of Tears" Jackson had a big heart. There are no words.

The ignorance of our president is beyond embarrassing

He says he's such a huge fan of Jackson, too. His portrait hangs in the OO. You would think he would know more about him.

Didn't all of us have to write about causes of the Civil War in grade school? No one's ever thought about it?

Of all the idiotic prattle that flows out of Trump's piehole this has to be one of the more astounding.

Trump's direct quote about Andrew Jackson:

"He was really angry that he saw what was happening with regard to the Civil War. He said, “There's no reason for this.”"

Trump obviously was completely unaware that Jackson died in EIGHTEEN FREAKING FORTY FIVE, sixteen years before the war started.

What is wrong with this guy? And what is wrong with the people that still idolize someone that doesn't have a clue about basic American history?

I think USA Presidential nominees should have to take the AP USA history exam. This is sad.

Trump claims to have been great friends with Luciano Pavarotti. The tenor's family said Pavarotti detested him and insisted Trump stop using the singer’s most famous aria - Nessun Dorma - at his campaign rallies.

Yammered on about Frederick Douglas like he was alive.

Is it possible that Trump is building a case for avoiding prosecution by reasons of mental incompetence?

This particular knucklehead wouldn't be able to pass the examination for naturalization. It would be too rigorous for him

And people admire him?

Could be, or could be his staff is letting him talk in hope of having ammunition for invoking the 25th Amendment once his numbers slip further. Most of the R's would much rather have Pence in there anyway.

He gave a bunch of interviews because of the 100 day milestone. Some really bizarre stuff out there.
