Sounds like money laundering to me.
It doesn't matter.

This is life at the super high end.
Trump properties haven't suddenly jumped in price that much. From what I've read, the premium that buyers used to pay for Trump condo in NYC has largely disappeared.

So what would explain the significant change in buyers?

Are they the same buyers, it's just that now they prefer to hide their identities behind shell companies.

Or are they different buyers, buyers who always have hidden behind shell companies and are now buying Trump properties.

It's common practice to set up LLC's for commercial real estate. We have one set up for our assemblage of properties.

This story is as stupid as the third Sesssions "meeting" with the Russians where the Russian ambassador simply walked past his seat in the assembly and exchanged passing greetings.

A normal person does not use a shell company to buy a property. There's no way around how shady this is.

Looks like you didn't make it past the first line of the post: "Most Trump real estate isn't sold to persons or LLCs; most of it is sold to anonymous shadowy shell companies:"

I have a nice pile of sand I can sell you to stick your head into.

You have to read the article and understand what an LLC is.

The line you post makes a poor attempt to editorialize a common practice of placing commercial buildings and rental properties in limited liability corporations. Owning and selling a condo hotel will lend itself to a large number of units being sold off to LLC's.

Perhaps you need to brush up on the definition of companies and corporations as well.

Sigh, let's pretend obama was born in Kenya. His mother was a us citizen which makes him a us citizen.
But oh I forgot, that scenario was okay for ted Cruz but not obama.

Something's changed.
4% seems awfully low considering the prices of properties.
Was it only buildings he developed, or does it include where he licensed his name?

I think this is similar to the pre-election polling; Well off people who support Trump want to keep that a secret.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...lcs/102399558/

"according to a six-month USA Today investigation that catalogued every condo, penthouse and property owned by the president. During the two years previous, just 4.2 percent of Trump property buyers were LLCs."

Trump sells most of his properties to shell companies now

Shell companies are gobbling up Trump properties

A quick Google search turns this and more up.
