You state that you don't understand why non-Catholic people would go to a Catholic university, so I gave an example of a Catholic university inviting a non-Catholic person to speak as an example of how the religious affiliation of the university doesn't impede communication. And you come back at me about local customs and dress codes?
At a religious institution. But I can see you're incapable of making the connection. Proves my point.
You are missing the point altogether. It had nothing to do with viewpoints, and everything to do with their disdain for Pence himself, and his boss. That was the point. They simply dislike them both so much (as many of us do) that they, in good conscience, could not just sit there and act as if they were accepting of him.
They did it with class and peacefully, but they made their point.
No they didn't.
Your post is a rationalization for their lack of manners, and not being brought up properly.
It's been pointed out many times already.......Notre Dame is in Indiana. Pence was governor of Indiana. They had listened many times to what he had to say and rejected it.
Pence was on his way to civilian life.
I'm sorry, I walked away while y'all were speaking because I disagree...
Every one of the ND idiots denied fellow students the right to their graduation tickets. Had they just not shown up to begin with, more tickets for those who were there.

Other students , the school and the audience were all subject to being part of it, like it or not.
Contrast that with the average TEA party protest...
They were held in public places, but those who took part were all people who wanted to be part of the protest.
The disruptions in town hall meetings were not by just those who wanted to disrupt the meetings. Some wanted to hear what the representative had to say.
No one was forced to be involved and there was nothing to listen to. Ignore them if you wish.
Everyone else was forced to participate by being a captive audience of sorts.
If the students didn't want to listen to Pence they could've simply not attended and picked up their diplomas afterwards, rather than making a spectacle of the ceremonies for everyone involved.
