What the anti gun crowd doesn't understand is that you aren't taking guns away from criminals; you're taking guns away from law abiding citizens who can use them to protect against violent criminals. Criminals will just get guns illegally if they're outlawed. Banning guns also doesn't reduce the amount of crime; all it does is make criminals resort to using other weapons.
A lot of the anti-gun crowd knows this. They are either criminals too and don't want someone to ward off what they do or they are the type that doesn't care if you are killed by a criminal but don't want you to accidentally kill them when you're shooting at the criminal.
I went through years of state approved violence at the hands of the thing while people watched it happen and did nothing. I wasn't worth saving to anyone. I was also too young to purchase a gun so I had no means to protect myself. Then, after I was old enough to purchase a gun, I had moderate to severe PTSD from the thing and what he and those that took his side did to me. They tried to prevent me from having a gun for that reason even though the thing was still harassing me up until few years ago. They don't want people to be able to defend themselves.

There needs to be much better regulation of guns. Most countries with more guns are not more but less safe. Restricting high capacity assault weapons is a good start.

Why do you want to own a gun? Just because I want one and it is my right? Not good enough. Establish a NEED, as many state do have on the books.
It certainly should be interesting to see the NRA response to this. I also read that this man was an out of state resident, meaning he had to take his guns across state lines, which NRA thinks should be legal across state lines. Do you favor that also? Carry permits universal across the country?

I'm not for banning guns but I am for:
1. People purchasing them legally (close all loopholes)
2. People who have a mental capacity (i.e. As determined by a doctor) should not be allowed to purchase one
3. All people who submit to bying one need to go to a mandatory training program.

Before you can post on here about guns, you have to have go to a mandatory training program and prove you know what you are talking about.
The 2nd Amendment WAS made second after Freedom of Speach, for a reason.
