The sad part is, I know more people with MBA's/PhD's that voted for Trump, while I know more ppl who simply have a HS degree voted for Hillary.

That might be notable if you knew all the voters in the US. But that is not how the country voted.

It seems like Democrats win most poor areas yet they keep trying to associate poverty and lack of education with GOP voters while simultaneously characterizing the GOP as the 'party of the rich'.

GOP policies favor the rich and screw the poor and middle class. Poor, rural whites vote GOP against their economic interest because of factors like guns, religion, and race.
