Cub Scouting is a program of the Boy Scouts of America—so in that sense, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts are both members of the same organization. However, they are entirely different programs: Cub Scouting is a family-oriented program designed specifically to address the needs of younger boys, and serve as an introduction to Boy Scouting.

And the point of the thread is not that OBama may not or may have been a Boy Scout but that Trump's speech was awful.....and the crowd was large because they were there for the jamboree not Trump

Obama was a Cub Scout which is part of the larger BSA. This reminds me of people who cried about Obama being identified as a black man because his mom was white. Whenever these things come up some people try SO HARD to discredit the man.

An interesting thing to quibble about, but regardless I fail to see why this point is relevant. Cub Scouts are registered members of the Boy Scouts of America, as are Venture Scouts. They're all Scouts as far as the BSA is concerned.
