He is so used to gold leaf and a 'no expense spared' lifestyle of luxury that the very concept of 'cutting back' is foreign to him. Now that he can do it at yours and my expense, all the better for him. While we try to figure out how to pay for the mortgage and groceries, he takes 25% of our money and blows it on ketchup covered steaks that cost more than we make in a week. He is living the high life at our expense and flaunting it in our face. He wants more and dares us to say anything about it because after all, he is King.
Agreed.

"It's good to be the king!"
Mel Brooks

Double-ironically, he is doing this mostly on properties he owns, and the Secret Service has to spend money at those resorts. So while he is busting the public budget on expensive chocolate cakes and golf carts for the Secret Service our taxpayer dollars actually flow into his personal portfolio.

How is that not self-dealing?

But, but, but........he is worth EVERY PENNY ! When you hire a guy who thinks toilets should be gold plated, this is what you get. Between us paying for his protection and the protection of that whole gold digging clan (including two worthless sons who jet off on their own business meetings) , we have paid more in 7 months than most Presidents rack up in a few years.

He has also cost a small fortune in LOCAL government costs, when he flies into his Fl and NY or NJ homes. The Trumpees will find SOME good excuse of why this is ok though, just wait.

the sad part is the SS agents still have to put in their time, paid or unpaid.

tRump is making new enemies every day; resentment by the SS will grow.

Regardless, either Congress needs to amend the rules concerning protection for the family (President, wife and Barron excepted, of course), or they need to pony up the money.
The difference between 1 billion and hundreds of millions is kind of lost on me... somewhere in there I think he has enough money to supplement the SS. :P Just donating his salary to them, versus other depts, would prob be a great help!

I wonder if we will start seeing resignations in that agency.

That should please Trump, he is looking for ways to cut the federal budget of wasteful spending.

NO, since he spent less money and time on vacation than other recent presidents. Check it out.
