The Democrat party's only real agenda items are Racism and Socialism. The government IS responsible for providing national defense, but has no such responsibility to provide health care or any other means of public assistance program benefits. It says so right there in the preamble.

Actually insulting someone in the fashion you just did shows a very low intelligence profile and an inability to reason.

'Promote general welfare' means just that. The United States should PROMOTE the well being of their citizenry, i.e. they exist to serve.

In what manner or capacity is debatable, but seeing as though there exists an intersection of healthy citizens and commerce, defense etc, it is a reasonable argument.

Whether you agree or not is not a reason to cast ill aspersions.

Umm, I think we are confusing the Preamble, which is not an article.

It says-

Provide means PROVIDE. They will PROVIDE a Navy, They will PROVIDE calling for the militia (military) for...

Promote means PROMOTE. The only citation of the word promote found in Article I, Section 8 is this-

"To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;"

The Articles are what are laws are founded on. The Preamble does not confer powers or rights- the Articles do, which is precisely why I said- "It is debatable".

I'll leave it at that. I'm all for a robust and affordable health care system for a number of reasons.
