I hope Trump does end DACA, however. It is not a law and wasn't lawful when Obama implemented DACA. I feel for the people, but they are not citizens and should not be given special treatment. These illegals have been disruptive, violent and disrespectful to the President, Republicans, and Americans, too. Perhaps Congress can pass a fair solution, which is what should have happened after 2012 when Obama made this unilateral decision. NO amnesty for anyone before there is a wall.
To be sure:

"White House aides caution that — as with everything in the Trump White House — nothing is set in stone until an official announcement has been made."

Looking forward to the lawsuits against this. The ACLU is poised and ready. And 78% of Americans agree that Dreamers should be allowed to stay.

I never doubted Trump would dump DACA.

Watch the massive move by those to Canada.

ACLU has no leg to stand on since DACA was an EO and not legislated law.

Stupid move but not at all surprising, More red meat to his base.

These kids and young adults willingly gave their information to the federal government and have played by the rules. They are in school, working, and in the military. They pay taxes and pay a fee to stay in the program.

What happened to prioritizing deporting the criminals? That's something left and right can agree on.

Will have to see how this six-month delay will work and what Congress can accomplish.

You must be careful when you state Trump "does" anything since he has effectively done nothing since he stepped into office (and largely - even before).

Repeal and replace on DAY ONE.
ISIS in 30 Days.
Tax Reform by end of August
Muslim total BAN.

The list is much longer.

You need to preface every statement about Don the Con with

"He claims he wants to"
or
"He claims he will attempt to"
or
"He just opened his mouth, meaning more lies and BS poured out"....

Let's all talk when this is done....or not. It's really hard to imagine children who grew up 100% here and who don't even know any other land being shipped back to Mexico. Are they going to throw them into the corporate jails on the way like they do with the others?

What if each of them presses forward with court cases and appeals?

Reality turns out to be a completely different matter from Trumpland. Heck, he may need them for cannon fodder for all the wars he is extending and starting...and change his mind.

Ideally there would be some sort of political compromise where we aggressively deport recent arrivals, criminals, enforce e-verify, and beef up border security (which yes might take the form of a wall in some places) but in turn let the dreamers and people who have been here 20+ years without ever taking welfare or breaking the law stay permanently with a full legal status giving them the right to everything except voting or not getting deported if they commit a violent crime.

These are mostly good people who did nothing wrong. However, without borders we aren't a nation. I don't think ending DACA is the right way to get back to having a meaningful southern border; it's understandable given that any routes to doing so that require legislation are effectively closed by the Democrats. Trump is backed into a corner on this and has no good move. Getting rid of it, keeping it in the context of absence of any congressional action on immigration, both bad.
