Let us not overlook that the students were invited to the event in part to share feedback about their experiences at the college, and when they raised an issue of concern, they were brushed off. What is the inherent message in that? It's that their opinions don't matter. That they should just sit down, shut up, eat their collards, and know their place. And you wonder why they're upset? Sheesh!

That's like putting gas chamber decals on the table for a Jewish gathering.

This president sounds like he needs to retire.
i think we just reach maximum hypersensitivity overload here, folks:
cotton centerpieces are now the equivalent of gas chambers

The truly sad part is that the cotton decor is front and center news about that dinner party while the fact that Black students' concerns got brushed off to the wayside.

They shouldn't be too upset though. They took pictures and tweeted and posted all about the decor and the food so they have some blame in this.

Sad that people hate other people just because their skin is a different color than theirs. Ignorant POS.

I agree with these...and cotton swabs looks awkward and out of place.

People use flowers as centerpeices, NOT COTTON.
