Let's talk about tax cuts for the poor. How do you reduce the federal income taxes on someone that doesn't pay any federal income taxes?

As to a lot of educated, well-traveled, sophisticated folk living in West Virginia...

What a hoot.

As you can see your line about voting in their best interests gave the leftists a big fat opening to criticize your post without actually addressing 95% of it. You might want to leave that part out next time. Besides, we can't even agree what our best interests are. We all vote for what we think are our best interests.

The rest of your post is good food for thought though. People on the left like to talk about poverty and lack of education in conservative states but no state votes monolithically for one party. In the case of many conservative states those uneducated and impoverished people are often the ones voting for democrats.

If Americans were very educated, they wouldn't elect Democrats or Republicans.

Since elementary school, we've been conditioned to pick a team and cheer for that team.

It took me a number of years to realize I'm a conservative while most Republicans are not.

"Well-traveled" likely means having been driven to Mississippi at some point.

Louisiana is one of the least educated states in the union.

America's most educated states: Louisiana ranks at bottom

No wonder eating with utensils is considered high class.

Enough of the jokes, time to debunk his claims.

The most educated area in Louisiana is Oak Hills Place which is in a county that voted for Clinton by almost 10 points. It was also one of the few counties in Louisiana that voted for Clinton.

Most "red" states have "blue" urban centers.

I lived in GA for many years and the most educated people in the state of GA live in metro Atlanta and metro Savannah. Both of those cities have a ton of "educated liberals" as does Baton Rouge, LA and New Orleans, LA.

In regards to WV, it actually is not a heavily educated state in general. And this is not a knock on WV as I have family who live there, but it is not a state known for its colleges/universities or for having a highly educated populace. Its neighbor to the east - Virginia, is different being that it has a large educated populace, which is one of the reasons it has become a "purple" state over the last 2-4 election cycles.

That is not going to change, for a long time to come.

Voting for a third party candidate will always be useless in America.
