I've always thought "rule by EO" was wrong. Presidents don't make laws; Congress does.
The funny thing about EO is Trump is using them too. With all the power he and his party has now he wants to use them for the rush that it gives him. Obama had no choice with this bill. He had to make it palatable for Catholics and then go back in and save his young female base with what they wanted. Sometimes "good” politics can be either right or wrong, it’s just something that just worked. Voters have to stop thinking of politics as right or wrong but good or bad and elect their people who are better at it.

This really got twisted way out of control with Hobby Lobby. I think most people don't even understand what the initial concern was about. It's very simple, there are 18 different birth control pills that have been approved by the FDA. Sixteen prevent ovulation.....no egg gets released each months....no egg to inseminate=no pregnancy. Hobby Lobby provided coverage of these 16 pills (I think at a $0 copay) to it's employees. The other 2 pills and 2 IUD devices that the FDA approved can be used like the morning after pill....they abort a pregnancy that's days old.

The left has twisted that issue into, "Hobby Lobby against women's rights". BTW, I'm agnostic and I have no problem with women getting abortions....I do thinks 13 weeks should be the cut off time for an abortion. On another note, I would have never wanted a life that I'm responsible for starting, getting aborted....I understand I would have no final say in that decision but, I would have been devastated by that.

I personally can not see anything unreasonable with Hobby Lobby's initial policy (I'm not sure if it's now changed). You have to pick your battles and for this to have been a problem, shows complete intolerance. They have religious reasons for not wanting to pay for an abortions...even if you've just conceived a few days ago. That's not even a problem because all you have to do is be responsible enough to be on one of the pills that they cover for free and you won't ovulate and have a need to use the 4 items they won't pay for.

There are people have twisted this issue into, "Hobby Lobby is against women's rights". I personally find that to be a dishonest argument.....there are people that believe that's what Hobby Lobby is all about because of a battle that should have never been picked.

No. Birth control is a private concern, a private expense, a lifestyle expense, an individual expense, and should be paid for 100% out of personal assets.

Unwanted children is a societal concern. Fewer unwanted children is desirable because they cost us a lot of money.

As a pharmacist, I'm telling you very few policies actually cover ED drugs. The number of policies not covering any form of oral contraceptives, I can count on one hand.

CMS bans coverage of lifestyle drugs. They won't cover weight loss medications and ED drugs. They don't consider oral contraceptives to be a lifestyle drug. In fact, I believe they are a required drug.

One could make that exact same claim about all medical expenses.

Viagra, antidepressants, ... all private concerns. Why should insurance be picking up the tab because you can't get it up or are down in the dumps?

Scientology is against psychiatric drugs and even psychiatric help.

Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe in blood transfusions.

Christian Scientists don't believe in any of it. Their insurance plan consists of prayer as far as I can tell.

If God wanted you to have working kidneys, low cholesterol, insulin ...

All medical care is a personal choice. You can say no to the double bypass surgery, hemorrhoid removal, rotator cuff repair, ... your choice.

There are other forms of birth control besides the Pill. IUD. Far more expensive, long term, and requires a doctor to insert it. Have you read about women stopping the Pill and getting an IUD instead because they were worried something like Trump's stance might happen? If a woman is in a long term relationship, or married, she might want an IUD instead of taking the Pill for years and years.

Sterilization is also covered in the BC Mandate. Again, cheap? I have know women who got their tubes tied after giving birth in the hospital. Maybe Hobby Lobby wouldn't object to sterilization (no dead babies), but the Catholic Church DOES. Where I used to live, the non-section hospital in town was bought by Catholic Church. If women wanted this procedure after childbirth, they would have to go to a hospital about 20 miles away, and find a local doctor affiliated with a different hospital.

I am 69 years old. Feel like I am living in a time warp, AND back in Catholic school.

Here is a question for you. If you work for a small business employer, do you know what their "sincerely held religious beliefs" are? ASK them and see what reaction you get.

It's THEIR money.
It's something they give me in exchange for my working for them. It's not a gift or charity. That's like them deciding to pay me partly in chickens when I want cash.
