He should have realized that groping her, even jokingly, was inappropriate unless she had said it was okay within the context of their relationship (like a spouse or friends who do it jokingly and both groups get a laugh, that’s different). That said, intent does matter. I wouldn’t say it’s prosecutable and seems a little silly to bring up, but I can also see why it would have made her very uncomfortable.

I agree that this never should have been an issue. A 93 year old man in a wheelchair with some amount of senile dementia gooses a woman, or grabs her butt. He apologizes. He doesn't have a history of this, but then, he has never been a 94 year old in a wheelchair with senile dementia before. I have no sympathy for people who are actually abusers, but I don't think this is it. Inappropriate, yes. But people with dementia do inappropriate things. I do have sympathy for the woman who was grabbed, but she needs to understand that there is possibly diminished reasoning. Perhaps the actress did not realize this, and put herself in the wrong place. Care to guess how many men with dementia (and women) grab nurses and aides in nursing homes?

So, if we are to understand you correctly, you are saying that you're looking forward to being a "dirty old man"? Don't you understand that nobody likes them? They're creeps and are avoided like the plague.

Why is it considered dirty? Fact is, they are Old Men that still like the idea of women and sex, whether they can perform the act or not....
Reality is real simple... a woman in their youth, around the world, based on who sees her as attractive, is pursued and thought about sexually, by, men, women, boys and other girls... and there is not a "mentally sane" woman alive who does not know that.... heck, there a vast volume of old women, who want to get close to, get their hands on or what ever else they can do with young women, and young men too for that fact, if they can manage to have such situations of opportunity. That's been reality in human life, likely from the earliest history of mankind's existence.
This stuff of trying to pretend women are some mindless being, when it comes to sex and reality, is the biggest sham in society. Heck... every woman knows what sex is, and they certainly know the circles of what is desire in the spectrum of people, both male and female, and from young ages to old ages.
So... all this idiocy of trying imply as if all these woman are some virginal princesses with virginal minds, is truly generalized B.S.... that is not dealing with reality.

Some of you are dialing in late to this. Not criticizing, just sayin. Let me summarize:
1 -Old George apparently does have a history of grabbing females in private places while tell his stupid joke.
2 - He may or may not have dementia. If he does, this could be a side effect from it.
3 - But, it seems his wife, Secret Service and other handlers are fully aware that he is capable of this unwanted behavior.
4 - He has publicly apologized. So, obviously, it isn't debatable that he has done it.
5 - Thus far, we have not heard anything about all the people around trying to prevent him from putting his hands on women's private body parts.
6 - I believe there have been 3 separate reportings of this, so far.
My conclusion: apparently it's going to take this public embarrassment for the people in his life to manage things so it doesn't happen. They care about his standing and reputation but, clearly, didn't care about innocent bystanders getting unwanted fondling, as long as the public didn't know. Now, they're going to care because it affects them personally (his public reputation). Oh, I do love seeing true colors.
