Gun Shop Owner Refused To Sell A Weapon To A Black Man With A Clean Background, Thinking He Would Re-Sell It On The Streets!
Chris King Mason and his friends went to Hopkins Gun and Tackle on Mechanicsville Turnpike in Richmond, Va to purchase firearms. As soon as Mr. Chris walked inside, the owner of this store refused to sell him any firearms.
His reason was simply, "I will not sell you or your friend any firearms because my reason to believe is that you will sell them to someone else." At first Mr. Chris presumed that he wasn’t serious because he is a regular customer, until he stood by his decision not to sell him anything and ask that he remove himself from the store.
The 2nd Amendment in a nutshell. It only applies to certain people.
Did he say WHY he thought the guy would sell it to someone else?
Keep in mind that the gun store owner would be in deep trouble with BATFE if he had that suspicion, sold to the guy anyway, and the guy DID sell it to someone else who committed a crime. Gun stores have been shut down for less.
And all over a law (straw purchases) that should not be on the books at all. One promoted by people who think restricting law-abiding people's guns will somehow prevent criminals from committing crimes, despite that being shown false time and time again.
It is difficult to comment on this one as the tape started only AFTER the guy was already in the store and something might have occurred before.
The other older employee asks the one who seems to tape and is the subject, to watch his language and I understand if he is upset but a gun store is not the place to have this attitude regardless of him being right or wrong as it seems that gun store owners can judge for themselves not to sell if they don't trust it.
This may or may not be right but doesn't mean this is based on racism as we can clearly hear that the man already had bought guns in this store before.
IMO the attitude the customer showed might have contributed to this decision.
Tapes are great but I would like the tape to show from entering till leaving and not when customer likes the tape to start.
i think what he did was right, a business should have the right to refuse service to you, for any reason. a baker to a gun dealer. i dont like you, leave.
