I think it comes down to simple minded greed they don't want to pay taxes and they don't give a rip about anything except expanding there wallet. What the conservatives fail to realize is the opportunities to make money would be limited if you cripple the institutions that make this country what it is.

There's nothing wrong with these really rough schools other than they're being made rough by a lot of the students that go there. Take out those students and those schools would be just fine.

You guys keep avoiding the main issue here, which is those schools are made terrible by the disruptive and gangsta students with absent parents. Stop blaming the rest of society for crappy parenting.

Dude, it does not get more greedy than forcing other people at the gunpoint to pay for your responsibility!!!!!!!!!!

Because you personally won’t give another dollar while asking others to pay up.

How much tax do you pay. Each year, my tax is over $53,000. Yes, you read that right. My tax is more than what you earn.

Who is the selfish one here? YOU!

I've never said that I wouldn't give more. You said that based on what I don't know. I've often said that our state taxes are so low that I would gladly pay more to have decent roads and better schools. You weren't there when I said that. And besides, I don't think it would necessarily take more money to ensure that all students get a quality educational experience. We can take a small fortune away from test prep, testing, and test remediation and the hardware and software required to support it and that would cover a huge portion of the cost.

Are you implying that you are more valuable as a person because your taxes exceed my income? Explain your reasoning because I don't follow it.

If money is the sole evaluation of a person, then we have different value systems. If you don't want to pay taxes in an established society, then you owe it to that society to remove yourself from it and its benefits. Go use your money to buy an island where you won't have to pay any more taxes. Of course, you will be responsible for your own infrastructure, but with a $53,000 per year reduction in your taxes, that shouldn't be a problem.

Here’s another tidbit. In my culture, we have a saying, education is the responsibility of the father, not the teacher. This was of course said in a time when most women were uneducated.

It illustrates the real problem: education can’t stop at schools.

How much percent or how many dollars would you personally give?

Sometimes individuals fail thats why we have public schools thats why we have police. What you are proposing would work in a small community in a greater society its unworkable.

No. We have police because it is the government’s job to enforce the law!

Its good you recognize that at least the same is true with education. What you want would be highly detrimental to this country. Look at all the countries that are better than the US they all have mandatory education that is rigorous. The countries that don't have public education are third world countries.
