There is no comparison with Watergate in this corrupt investigation. This is far worse than Watergate, and it is the Democrats that should be worried. They are the ones in trouble here. Big trouble.
You must not be old enough to remember Watergate. You don't seem to know what it was about, if you are trying to compare this "investigation" to Watergate. In Watergate, they were actually investigating a crime. Here, there is no crime. They are looking for a crime to investigate.
The crimes committed here are all on the part of the Democrats who are doing the investigation into the Trump team, which has done nothing illegal, and that is a huge difference. But we have people on Mueller's team that were colluding with the Russians to create a fake "dossier" on Trump. They were secretly conspiring to derail his campaign, and if that didn't work, they (as we now know) were formulating how they would prevent him from getting elected. And if that fake "dossier" was used to obtain the FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign, it is even worse. Some of these people (Democrats) could be headed for prison.
I was 20 years old when Watergate happened, and my number in the draft lottery was 4. We would have been out of Viet Nam before then if Tricky Dick hadn't wanted to save his political hide. I remember that sonofabitch Nixon, well, and read everything I could find at the time pertaining to Watergate.
He committed a crime, fired Archibald Cox, and was due to be impeached because of the evidence he was the one who had orchestrated the whole thing. The republicans, back when they still had a sense of honor, went to him and told him to resign or his fanny was grass and they were going to be the lawn mower. That bastard Ford pardoned him before he could go to prison. Both of them are dead now, and much improved by it.
Back to Trump - if he isn't guilty, he has nothing to fear. If he is, Mueller will uncover it, but Mueller isn't Cox. The indictments we have seen on Papadopoulos and Flynn are relatively minor charges, but don't think for a minute he doesn't have plenty more available, and plenty of evidence that he has shared with state prosecutors in New York, Florida , Virginia, and maybe other places that can be used to bring charges if Trump cans him. Firing him will not make the investigation go away. He has already pumped Flynn for a lot of information, and Flynn apparently thought it would be interesting to prosecutors since he was trying to cut a deal in March while Comey was still head of the FBI and Mueller hadn't even been thought of.
If Mueller finds anything incriminating on any Democrats in the course of his investigation, he will act on it, and it will be well within the scope of his charter. If not, you will need a different Special Prosecutor appointed to deal with the charges you seem to think are coming. We'll just have to wait and see what he uncovers, won't we?
...are you sure the returns were legally obtained? what evidence was used to obtain all that evidence? was it the FISA warrant that used the fake dossier? if so then ALL that evidence is fruit of the poisonous tree and thus was not legally obtained, and thus not usable in court.
The 'fruit of the poisonous tree' is a desperate & last-ditch effort. Will that be Mr. Trump's sole defense in his upcoming interviews with Mr. Mueller?
Let me guess, I bet you think any email that you have on your employer's server needs a warrant to be viewed?
The transition teams emails were on a government server. All Mueller needed to do was ask, just like anyone is able to for a public record (which is what an email on a government server is).
Sorry your guys aren't smart enough to understand that (or thought the rules didn't apply to them). Rest assured, there are plenty of people who have been fired or jailed believing the same thing.
Now run along and clean up your inbox, it sounds like something you should do if you think the material is somehow privileged.
E-mails on gov't servers aren't deleted forever. They're stored on servers to comply with the law.
And of course FOX news, a state propaganda, helps them spread the word.
Now they are saying that emails obtained by Mueller from third party (General Services Admin) are somehow illegal.
Trump tweet coming soon: The GSA is in tatters!
