Republicans control the House, Senate, White House and Supreme Court yet they can't stop this?
As much as they say they hate the "Gubmint" they should be screaming for joy that they now don't have to govern!
I guess this is part of Trump's "winning" strategy!
....and of course I guess the Dumbander-in Chief has never heard of the term "The buck stops here"!
Another example of the left's hypocrisy. Seems I to remember Cruz (and a few others) being called a loony and un-American for standing up against what he didn't believe in to the point of letting the government shut down. For not "going along with the flow." He was basically called a pimple on Satan's ass by all the left's little darlings. But now those same little darlings are NOT un-American and NOT loony for pulling the exact same stunt. Amazing, but not one bit surprising.
And, no... not at all... not a bit of hypocrisy there.

Except when he blamed Obama for the Government shutting down:
"Trump spoke to “Fox & Friends†in 2013 and was asked who would be fired during a government shutdown, as shown in a clip posted by "Morning Joe."
“Well, if you say who gets fired it always has to be the top,†Trump said. “I mean, problems start from the top and they have to get solved from the top and the president’s the leader. And he’s got to get everybody in a room and he’s got to lead.â€
He said that further down in history, “when they talk about the government shutdown, they’re going to be talking about the president of the United States, who the president was at that time.â€
“They’re not going to be talking about who was the head of the House, the head the Senate, who’s running things in Washington,†Trump said.
“So I really think the pressure is on the president,†he added."

And obviously the GOP does not have all 51 Senate votes on their side in line, otherwise they would have brought the bill to the Senate floor for a vote and let it fall short of 60 and then blame the Democrats. Right now they are trying to blame the Democrats for not helping them get to 60 and they don't have their own house in order.
Sen. Charles Schumer (D) met with Trump today. Still no deal. Democrats still insist that they must get what they want on DACA, or they will shut down the government. Even though DACA has nothing to do with a the Continuing Resolution to keep the govt going for four weeks.
The title of this thread is as true now as it was when it was started. Democrats are determined to shut down the government, and are uninterested in the slightest compromise with their agenda.
You apparently didn't notice when Republicans did this to Democrats for the last 8 years?
Republicans have majorities. In the end this is up to them. Even Trump has said that if a shutdown occurs its because of a failure of leadership at the top.

Trump made a deal and crapped out on it. This is totally on him.
Even Donny agrees it is his fault. Thanks Donny--we agree. He thinks the president should be responsible. He, of course, has a big pay to play fundraiser going on at his pay to play resort this weekend, so he's going to have to run from DC negotiations to give all those people who paid for it--access to him.
"...Not too long ago Donald Trump made clear who he thought always should be blamed when the government shuts down: the sitting president of the United States....
in 2013, Trump called into “Fox & Friends” to say then-President Barack Obama was responsible for a government shutdown. He said whoever is president when the federal apparatus is shuttered should be blamed.
