The security clearance downgrade for Kushner was in preparation for his upcoming indictment.
My hunch is the plan is that Kushner will eventually resign from "volunteering" at the WH to "volunteer" in his father-in-law's campaign. He and the administration will spin it that way to save face.
What Mueller and a Grand Jury eventually do or do not do is a separate issue.
These Trump Officials Really Love the Taxpayer-Funded High Life
Everyone agrees Jared Kushner has more responsibilities than he can handle. However, if you asked anyone what Trump’s son-in-law has accomplished since moving to Washington, that question is much harder to answer. We’re certain he hasn’t solved the opioid crisis or brought peace to the Middle East (two things in his portfolio).
Yet off Jared went, flying to Iraq in April 2017 on the sort of flight that costs $25,000 per hour. In October of the same year, Kushner ended up in Saudi Arabia promoting his peace mission.
Previously, we found him, his wife, his brother-in-law, and about 100 Secret Service agents in Colorado for a ski jaunt. Just the Secret Service ski equipment rentals alone cost taxpayers $12,208 that trip. We don’t want to guess what the flights and everything else cost.
Jared Kushner And Ivanka Trump Blasted For Alleged Use Of Taxpayer Money For Private Vacations
And now, Vanity Fair reports that Jared and Ivanka may be in trouble for using taxpayer money for private vacations. Back in August, Donald Trump’s administration was widely criticized for its response to white nationalist demonstrations in Charlottesville which grew violent. At the time, it was reported that instead of helping the White House deal with the situation, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump were spotted vacationing in Vermont. Now it has been revealed that the couple reportedly used a Trump Organization helicopter to fly to an exclusive ski resort. It is highly likely that taxpayers had to foot the bill for Jared and Ivanka’s rendezvous, former President George W. Bush’s ethics chief, Richard Painter, told Newsweek.
Chinese say Trump ties are 'biggest selling point' in Kushner investment
Representatives for Kushner Companies have been touring China to look for 300 investors willing to finance a new property development in New Jersey called 1 Journal Square.
The project was criticized by ethics watchdogs earlier this month because the company appeared to be using its relationship to the White House to promote the family business.
"Now, after selling off chunks of the property, Kushner’s family company, which currently holds half of a $1.2 billion mortgage, on which it “hasn’t paid a cent,” is struggling to come up with the remainder as the entirety of the loan comes due in February 2019. As a new report from Bloomberg details, the firm is, to use some industry jargon, completely f*cked:
The strain has become increasingly evident across their holdings. One person familiar with the company’s finances describes the tower, with its low ceilings and outdated floor plan, as the Jenga puzzle piece that could set the empire teetering."
It is extremely odd that he is traveling to these countries like Saudi Arabia, Israel and China instead of the secretary of state. Imagine the reaction from James Baker or Brzezinski if the presidents son in law took trips like this in their place, they would be gone in minutes. He has absolutely no experience in foreign affairs, no secret clearance but here he is leading the charge. It sure gives the appearance of a promo for investors.
Kushner's sister used her brother and Trump to seek investors in China right after the election, the endless search for investors continues. So strange that with interest rates so low they can't get loans the old fashioned way through US banks.
Kelly is downgrading security clearance for everyone not already cleared due to the recent scandal. That includes Jared Kushner. Why he's not able to get full security clearance is a mystery to me?
