Mark Hasara, a retired USAF Lt. Col. and now author (Tanker Pilot: Lessons from the Cockpit), called Rush's show today to say that security clearances change on a need to know basis. His would go from Top Secret to Secret frequently. It was a way to protect the information.

Hillary and Huma still have Top Secret clearances, by the way. I wonder how many docs they've deleted.

The Emoluments Clause is also pretty simple & straightforward (proactively anti-corruption) however, like most things, is open to interpretation.

(Could go on here with other & so on, fr'instance The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977 (FCPA), but honestly considering whether it would be helpful)
I am somewhat familiar with the Emoluments Clause. The problem we have here is we have never elected a President who had as many different business holdings as Trump. So the laws really don't cover it all. He was required to divest his interests to avoid conflicts. He skirted that by simply putting the companies in his kids' name but obviously they still have his finger prints all over them and he will regain control when he leaves office. He could very well make decisions in office that would benefit his companies, that's obvious and the very reason these laws exist to try to prevent that.

I call BS on that. If you have a TS clearance then you can view Secret material; the other direction, then no. "Need to know" is a totally different matter. You can have the clearance level necessary to view the material, but still not have the "need to know" it. I had a TS/SCI + several other clearances on top of those for many years - they never changed back to Secret at any time whether I was viewing TS/SCI, Secret, or merely Sensitive information. BTW, it took me less than one year to get my TS/SCI clearance. Apparently Jared had some "issues" that made getting his an impossibility. Sad.

Why didn't Jared get a security clearance? Unlike Harvard and law school his dad couldn't buy him one.

If I were King I'd put the Dude in jail...taking loans from people after they visited the White House is a CRIME, IMHO.

As they say, steal a car for a joy ride and do 10-20. Steal $1,000 from a Bank and do 15-20.

Steal Billions and you are a hero and a "businessman" and you'll likely never see the insider of a jail.

This would be akin to jailing Heroin users, but giving a Medal to the Heroin manufacturers and Importers.

Why would you ask such a stupid question? It has nothing to do with what is being discussed.

No, but it makes for some swell deflection from the subject at hand.
