Absurd. Putin and his operatives wanted the weakest, most easily manipulated candidate to win, and that was Trump.

Hillary Clinton was far more challenging - she had the experience, the smarts, was articulate and less self-indulgent, and was more hawkish than dovish. She was better balanced emotionally and was a mature adult. She lacked Trump's unpredictability and was far more subtle.

Putin's ultimate goal was not to support either candidate, but to divide and conquer by weakening the United States and creating dissension and division and doubt among the American people. He and his minions seem to be succeeding in that, very unfortunately.

We need to do a much better job of educating the public, starting with the schools and continuing with the media, both of which need to be called to account. The "fairness doctrine" needs to be reinstalled to rein in extremist right-wing radio, for starters. People need to learn how to examine information and how to recognize false arguments and deliberately inflammatory false and/or distorted information. We need higher standards, and we need to hold our officials and institutions to them.

Our own government is corrupt as hell and Putin has nothing to do with it!!

Our own press is trying for a totalitarian press. Have you noticed? they are really bought and paid for by the global socialists. They want America leveled with the world.

Then Trump came along as the Americans who were not indoctrinated by the colleges noticed long ago that the country was going down hill and Americans were forgotten.

The press is pretty much corrupt fighting for globalism. The liberal creeps have infiltrated our colleges and slowly taking over their weak minds to accept the socialist agenda they put forth. They have succeeded in brainwashing them though the media and college. That is all they hear and their mindset is pretty much in the bag for socialism. Other words used , progressive, social justice all stand for socialism.

This is the big reason the media continues to HATE TRUMP! Even if America becomes great again , they will hate it. Why ? It goes against their world view of given up our sovereignty into global treaties to become lesser. They want our wealth distributed to the world with opened borders, no birth right, no value to being a citizen of the United States. They want it all dissolved.

It's our business when Russia's leaders try to subvert our democratic processes and interfere in our elections and the aftermath in our federal government, as they continue to do.

Very much our business.
Then maybe we should clean house then shouldn't we? Rats and roaches are coming through every crack and they aren't all Russian rats and roaches. There's not a congress member or senator not up for sale to any entity in this universe with a little cash to throw around. Foreign powers buying influence in Murika isn't just a Russian problem now is it?

You need to get things in perspective. Our leadership is just a bunch of prostitutes. We can't blame the Russians if we want to fix it, which we apparently don't.

Nothing is accomplished. Correct. Just the way it goes.

But it would be okay with you for American to give up its sovereignty to Trump's cronies, including those in Russia, right?

You know, I think the finest part of American "wealth" is our heritage of freedom and democracy, not what can be measured in dollars and cents.

That's what's at stake here - you've swallowed the arch-conservative line about immigration, "socialism", colleges being the source of all evil, etc. In reality, our major challenge right now is Russian influence in our election and government, and extreme corruption at the highest level of government. Those other topics are worthy of debate and attention - but unless the head of the snake is cut off, the rattles don't signify.

So... the American people have no faith in our "Government"?

We didn't need Putin for that.

Nothing accomplished by your post, you mean? That's what I responded to.

Fail.

For those of you saying that American and our government are corrupt, let me ask you this:

If this is what you truly believe, and you claim to care about the future well-being of our country, what are you doing to change things?

Are you contacting your representatives? Are you voting? Encouraging others to vote? Are you encouraging others who represent your views more accurately to run for office, and are you supporting them?

What are you doing?

Our government has always been corrupt. It doesn't matter how many times you vote and think you are putting the "right" people in. The Deep State is reals. The question is the level of corruption we are willing to accept.

What am I doing? taking care of myself and my family. I'm not naive enough to think that by voting or getting people to vote the system that has been in place in Washington for centuries will change. It is what it is.
