I'll say it again, It's a hard subject to discuss without flying off the handle or going off on tangents but it really needs to be looked at.
It amazes me that everyone is so wound up about this one school shooting and killing of 17 people and yet 3 times that amount have been shot in just one long weekend in Chicago.
People say "we've had enough" and I say "I think the people in Chicago and other major cites have been saying this for years now" to no avail. Why is THIS incident more important?
Why is THIS school so freaking important vs the hundreds of people shot and murdered every year in Chicago? Why aren't people demanding the Mayor of Chicago or the Governor of Illinois do something or be fired?
I've not seen the last president's feet held to the fire over all the kids/teens murdered in places like Chicago,Detroit etc. why is that? Why are kids being murdered so important NOW and only in FL?
Perhaps it's due to the fact that most of the victims within these urban settings are black...
This guy had an anger problem, not a mental health problem. Violence people commit violent crimes. The vast majority of the mentally ill do not commit violent crimes. You're just stigmatizing all mentally ill people because you don't know what you're talking about
well then, how come several people reported that he wasn't only mentally ill, but he threatened to do something, they feared he was violent, his grandmother feared him, the school had expelled him? You kill people, your mentally ill....that thought doesn't even enter the minds of those who are grounded and mentally sane....
there are also many different levels of mental illness...some very mild, some a little more, which can be controlled with meds...however, there are those that cross the line and want to hurt, maul, rape or torture others, including murder...that is an unstable mind, period.
there is also something else that everyone seems to be overlooking, what kind of drugs was Cruz on? Lets explore that...there are certain drugs that do not mix well with certain people's chemistry, and makes them do horrible things.
Next, maybe, just maybe, if the kids in school wouldn't have teased him for being autistic, so much, maybe he would have never done this....
My cousin's grand son is autistic, and note, there are also different levels of autistic, there is never one size fits all, but the kids were so mean to him in school, he wanted to kill himself....???????
People need to stop blaming the gun, and start using some common sense. If your mind's in good health, you wouldn't pick up a gun to kill someone....you wouldn't torture animals, or rape kids....there are way too many really sick people walking around society that shouldn't be.

Conspiracy theory nuts and other extremists have never been so emboldened under other Presidents. And this President is not condemning them. Young generations are watching closely.
If that were true then 44mag would have been used in all these mass shootings, the AR15 and other similar weapons are military grade. They are designed for killing many in short time periods. Banning them is certainly not a complete solution but needs to be addressed.

It is not just mental instability. It is pure evil.

It's the Sheriff, the AFT, the FBI, and all the U.S. arms of LE that are left to clean up this mess for which the NRA is primarily responsible.

Yes, we all have heard it before. Obama scared all of the bad people into hiding. There were no bad people before, and now that Trump is president, they are “emboldened” to come out of the shadows.
