Had nothing to do with race and everything to do with a fugitive fleeing to a dark yard and pulling something out of his pocket.
Black or white, same result
There is still no report that he pulled anything for a pocket. That appears to be a made up story by posters to avoid recognizing he got shot for doing what the police asked.

It's unlikely the guy was doing anything the police ordered of him, having had just ran from them into his relative's back yard. The phone was in his hand one way or any other, and tragically the police believed it was a gun. It should never have come to it, Clark obviously shouldn't have been out wrecking the neighborhood but beyond that he shouldn't have been trying to escape
"Hard work." It's way harder owning a business, or being a chef like my girlfriend.
The 10 Deadliest Jobs: Deaths per 100,000
Being a cop isn't even in the top 10.
Being a cop doesn't make the top 10, but that is because most of the time the job is sitting at a desk, sitting in a car, or otherwise just waiting around.
As soon as the cop's job becomes chasing a violent suspect through backyards in the dark, not knowing the capabilities of the person they are chasing, in those moments, it becomes a very risky job. And the chance of a cop then shooting someone so that he may live to see another day increases dramatically.
The deadliest jobs are those where you are being passively poisoned by chemicals. And you are very unlikely to shoot someone while slowly developing mesothelioma or lymphatic cancer while gylphosate mists over you in a corn field somewhere.
My car got vandalized in a predominantly black neighborhood for simply parking at my then black boyfriend's house. My first thought when I saw this case: what the hell was he out and about vandalizing his own neighborhood?

People who think a vandal is a dangerous thug and is better off dead have no clue as to the real violent black men who roam the streets. I grew up with some of them. If you were a police and wanted to go home to your family, who would you want a face down with; a vandal or a gang banger? Any police detective could have knocked on his door the next day and arrested this vandal. Whats the point of employing helicopters, infrared lights and a swat team to track and kill a vandal? Sounds excessive to me.

Nobody thinks this guy was "better off dead", what we're saying is he put himself in a position where this sort of thing can happen. There's probably 1000 incidents like this every week in the US, maybe 10 result in a serious injury and 1 in a death. Clark won the lottery, all it takes to play is stupidity
nicholas cruz murdered 17 people in his school and was taken in without shooting him 20 times.
Same for dylann roof.
committing vandalism should not result in an instantaneous death sentence when the police seem perfectly capable of bringing in young men who have actually murdered people.

How many of those 1000 events do police call in the swat team, helicopters and infrared lights because some one called about vandalism?

Take out the swat team and probably thousands of times a night. I'd suspect those helicopters stay very busy and a great tool with their infrared tracking down Perps at night. A valuable asset.
SWAT, only when needed.
