I listened as my grandsons had a conversation.
I listened but did not intervene, so that I would not influence what they were saying. These 3 are college age voters. They believe:
* Playing a certain song by The Beatles in reverse reveals that one of the Beatles is dead.
* Marijuana will soon be legal in all states. No restriction.
* Marijuana is better for you than alcohol.
* Betsy Devoss is the first non-teacher to ever hold her position.
Thankfully, 2 out of 3 have never voted, although the youngest was an Obama supporter for a few years. He is not now, though.
18 is too young to vote. A military ID should be used to waive the rule, but generally, 18 is too young.
Those of us who were 'there' remember the howling and protesting as the 18 year old set ran through the streets demonstrating for the 'right to be heard'. History and current events show that we had it right back when the voting age was 21.
1. Probably not true... But then again... This started way back in the day so... That's not really a generational thing.
2. It's a possibility. It's on the docket in Utah... Utah. It's already partially legal in more than half the US states.
3. It probably is. You can consume it in many different ways that are healthier than smoking it. Marijuana also has a plethora of medical benefits aside from the pain-killing/relaxation side of it.
4. That's presumptuous of your grandchildren. Though... I wouldn't blame them... Trump staff is really wonky...
18 is far from too young.
You're pretty much stating that your opinion doesn't matter before 21 which is complete and utter BS.
There's life experience to be had for many that age but it's really up to the parents and previous generations to educate, not to scold.
33% and how many of them are under 18 and how many of them will bother to vote in 18 or 20? Probably a large number, just like in recent years. I was one who fought hard for 18 year olds to have the right to vote. I I had to do it again, I probably would not want this. When the law was 21, almost all of us voted. We couldn't wait for the opportunity to cast our votes. It seems like those days are gone. Kids just don't pay enough attention. Right now, of course, with the Fl. situation young people are paying a little more attention but this too shall pass.
They just listen to the words that Trump says. It's a pretty easy conclusion to reach simply based on that.
O for heavens sake, he is not a racist or mentally unstable. Those young people are smoking pot again I bet. Only kidding!!!! He is different and no, not all of us are in love with him but he isn't mentally unstable just pretty immature for a 70 plus year old man and it is no secret he doesn't want to see this country be taken over by illegals. Does that make him a racist?
Gothereasquickasicould: where in the heck do you get the idea he supports KKK? What a joke. Maybe you are about as immature as he is if you really believe that and belief he has shown he doesn't like Mexicans?
Sarah Huckabee Sanders will explain, complete with condescending comments and cocked eyebrows.
