Conflation and false equivalency.
Firearm enthusiasts do not defend the 2nd Amendment to do any such thing.
However, if I recall correctly, wasn't it a program initiated by Democrats, that protects the individual rights of criminals under the guise of "its difficult to go to college, join the military, and obtain a job/start a career with an arrest record"?
Because it's not like its difficult to purchase a firearm with an arrest record or anything...
We all have a right to voice our opinion, just as much as we have a right to lawful means of defense. I take it you still don't know the difference between offense and defense...
Perhaps you might solely rely on a form of government to do that for you, others don't...

If you don't believe in government, you don't believe in the BOR, which is an issuance of that government.
The Bill of Rights is nothing but a set of limitations on the government. It doesn't grant rights, it tells the government both implicitly and explicitly that they cannot mess with the natural rights of the individuals nor the sovereignty of the states.

As an agnostic, I am not willing to accept that phrase, unless some sort of proof can be offered that indeed, a creator was involved. The entirety of the Constitution was the work of men, unless you can show me where some deity signed it.
Even the signers are allowed a slip into fantasy every now and again.
You don't have to be religious at all to accept natural rights.
Where they come from.....a Christian God, the Flying Spaghetti Monster or just from nature itself is irrelevant to the fact that they exist.
The Constitution and the Bill of Rights specifically is a set of limitations placed on the government, barring it from violating those rights.
Thus the use of phrases such as "Congress shall make no law" and "shall not be infringed".
Note that nowhere in the Bill of Rights is language such as "the right is hereby granted by government" used by the Founders.
