Thread over.

This thread is going on because people ON CD are mad about why a store manager who was doing her "job" was fired Why CEO of Starbucks had to or decided to apologize to these black men who were "trespassing" and some claims "criminally trespassing" or loitering.

It's kind of crazy that store manager had all the time for this kind of stuff rather than do something that makes her store more welcoming and attract more customers. If you do this kind of policing store is going to be quieter with time. And this is the reason she is fired. I just can't see how a store manager or small business owner wins by making their customers mad by doing stuff like this that costs penny.

I thought Venn diagrams were a product of logic, not fallacy?
Where did I say that the police were being "tyrannical"

They didn't have to believe they were causing a disturbance. They were trespassing, could have bought a coffee or left but chose to be arrested.

She didn't get fired.

If I felt like I hadn't done anything wrong, I'd demand an answer as to why. I would then ask them for the contact information for their immediate supervisor, so that I could file a complaint against them. Something I have done several times over the years.

If I felt that what was happening was discrimination, I would tell the police this, and would allow police to arrest me. When I feel strongly that I'm in the right, I act on it.

Once I was in a fast-food drive thru, and another car tried to cut in the line from the restaurant's back exit. So I got out of my car and knocked on her window to tell her that the line began several cars back. She rolled down her window and told me she just needed an iced tea. I pointed to the end of the line, she rolled up her window. So I went and stood immediately in front of her car, and waved the cars behind me to come around. They did so, and they told the people at the window what was happening. The woman trying to cut in line screamed at me that she was calling the police. I continued to wave cars around us. The manager came out, and asked us both to move our cars to the parking area, because the police had been called and were on their way. He told me all the other cars has backed me up. I complied with his request, went back to my car and parked in the parking lot. She didn't. She zipped into the line, placed her order, got her tea and took off. The manager laughed, and told me they had her license plate number. The police came, I told them what happened, they lectured me on how I shouldn't have taken matters into my own hands, while they hunted her down. About twenty minutes later, she drove back escorted by the police. She told the police she was in the line the whole time, just that the others in the line couldn't see her. I pointed out to the police officer that it's hard to be in a line, but no one else in the line can see you. She got a ticket. I got a free lunch.

I wouldn't let myself be arrested for trespassing at a place I was shopping at. Also your story is nice but it has noting to do with discrimination it's about a lady cutting a line and you risking your life by standing in front of her. One day you are going to stand in front of a person who is having a mental break down/ clinically insane and get run over and killed for nothing.

Would you let yourself be arrested for refusing to give up your bus seat to someone else?

People take stands. That is what my story is about. What I did was silly. I was tired, and this woman made me angry, and I decided someone should stand up to her. I think these men felt like they'd done nothing wrong, and they decided to take a stand. Rosa Parks decided to take a stand. And she changed the world.
