Guess alternative facts now have legitimacy - and Trump can truthfully say he doesn't lie - his comments are rhetorical hyperbole and not to be able to use this rhetorical hyperbole would significantly hamper him.

So, we've come full circle. We have no right to expect the president of the US to tell the truth.
"Significantly hamper the office of the President"--
Or prevent Trump from agitating his base???

And this quote from Seeking Alpha website about the "resurgence of coal plants" Trump has promised his base since his campaign
Report: DoE coal rescue plan runs aground at White House

Oct. 16, 2018 11:26 AM ET|By: Carl Surran, SA News Editor
A Department of Energy plan to prop up ailing coal companies has run aground in the White House, a setback to an industry that had hoped for a major resurgence after Pres. Trump's election, Politico reports.

Energy Secretary Perry has spent more than a year pushing various plans that would invoke national security to force power companies to keep their economically struggling coal plants running, but the White House reportedly has shelved the plan amid opposition from Trump’s own advisers on the National Security Council and National Economic Council.

1--because they know the predicated justification is a lie
2--because they know it will be bad move economically for majority of economy/people
3-because likely Carl Icahn can't make money with it

Is porn star Stephanie Gregory Clifford/Stormy considered to be a prominent individual? The courts dismissed her lies.

I don't do Twitter
And haven't seen this in the few glimpses I had of MSNBC today==

Could it be he found out MBS is caught literally red-handed re the consulate murder?
Or maybe something has come out about Mueller's investigation--that has been fairly quiet but always perking in the background...

I loved his line about nothing to do with the Saudis, and of course Russia, when the Saudis bought a whole floor in Trump Tower, his yacht, and Donny Jr. is on record saying they get all the money they need from Russia, because American banks won't lend to them.

If I were a Trump supporter, I'd be getting preety tired of being lied to, and treated like an idiot. But, I guess they are fine with it.

They love that he's rich and he talks BS. As someone said upthread, evidence-based reality matters not a whit to these people - nor does right/wrong, morality, ethics. He's THE MAN. He's THEIR MAN.

This Khashoggi thing is really awful. Trump said tonight we'd be stupid to screw up billions of dollars of arms sales because of this murder and butchery. So, now he's gaslighting about "rogues" within the Saudi Embassy, no matter these butchers were flown in for a specific purpose, and one of the group is seen wherever the Crown Prince goes.

Where money is concerned, there are no limits. Quite a message he's sending to the world. He may very well be altering global views on outrageousness forever.
