Fake News? That is from an article at Politico. Not that Politico always gets it right, but this was pretty plain vanilla stuff. What part of this story are you disputing?
The Thursdayfiling said that a 2015 ruling from Gee, holding that the consent decree covered children entering the U.S. with a family member, effectively made it impossible to detain immigrant families and led to a surge in migrants crossing the border with children.
“These realities have precipitated a destabilizing migratory crisis: tens of thousands of families are embarking on the dangerous journey to the United States, often through smuggling arrangements, and then crossing the border illegally in violation of our federal criminal law,” the Justice Department lawyers wrote. “This entire journey and ultimate crossing puts children and families at risk, and violates criminal laws enacted by Congress to protect the border. Those illegal crossings must stop.”
The government lawyers noted that three years ago, under the Obama administration, the Justice Department asked Gee to modify the consent decree and that she declined. “Several material changes in circumstances” justify her doing so now, the federal government attorneys said.
“Undeniably the limitation on the option of detaining families together and the marked increase of families illegally crossing the border are linked,” the Justice Department filing said. “This Court … has the authority and responsibility to resolve these growing concerns by immediately permitting family detention.”

Of course Congressional Democrats and their propaganda pushing, fake news agents in the media have been insisting that Trump was lying when he insisted that he could not resolve this by executive order. If this judge rules against him, as is expected, then that will prove that it was not Trump who was lying, but rather the liars were all of the Democrats and the fake news media whores who insisted he had the authority to do this on his own.
If Judge Gee (appointed by Obama) overturns Trump's Executive Order, she will have proved him right and will be taking ownership of this scandalous arrangement on herself and on the Democrat left, who is also refusing to allow this problem to be fixed through legislation - as that would run contrary to the illegal open borders arrangement that they lust after.
The pressure is now on Judge Gee (appointed by Obama). If she overturns Trump's Executive Order, the Democrats own this.
Were children removed from parents? Did many of them cry?
Only Republicans would care about the specific picture rather than the horrible policy.

If a judge overturns the order I will eat my words with an apology right now I doubt trump had to sign the order and he did it for show

If she fears being killed, does it really matter who the potential killer is?
So what should Americans do when they are in that situation? Should they show up at the Canadian border and demand asylum?
This woman you are defending has options. She can move to another part of her own country. Or you can offer to sponsor her and move her into your own home.
This is a fair question. Why isn't Mexico doing something to help with this migrant situation. One possible reason is the poor relations between the U.S. and Mexico due to Trump's big mouth (insulting Mexicans, claiming Mexico will pay for the border wall, etc.). Are there other possible reasons too?
Mexico has been doing this for years. It has nothing to do with Trump. Try again.
Mexico doesn't want these people who are the dregs of their own societies. When they show up at the Mexican border, Mexico gives them a 21 day visa and tells them they have that much time to get to the US border.
Lately, Mexico has given some of these people asylum. Yet very, very few of them ask Mexico for it.
We all know why---these so-called asylum seekers want the US because of all the freebies.
When are Trump supporters going to realize Trump and Hitler have a lot in common? Trump is just stupider. The hate starts small and gets big. Everyone else is the enemy. Trump is calling illegal immigrants "animals." He vastly exaggerates any threat they pose. In fact, illegal immigrants are LESS likely to commit crimes than US citizens. The reason for that should be obvious: they don't want to get deported. Not only that, if one considers how much effort it takes to cross the border to escape poverty or violence in their home countries, that takes guts, gumption, and a lot of effort, qualities criminals don't usually have. Criminals take the easy way out. I am not excusing their actions; just saying illegal immigrants are not a threat to our way of life as Trump claims.
What a despicable remark. When you bring Hitler into the conversation, you invoke Godwin's Law. You lose.
You also trivialize the suffering that victims of the Holocaust experienced---and that is vile.
We can't take in the entire third world without descending to third world status ourselves.
Trump will go down in history as the president who took little kids away from their parents... nice going. Meanwhile, Sessions was trying to reverse what he previously said about separating children from their parents. Now he is saying "we didn't want to have to do that" when the liar absolutely wanted to so they could deter people from trying to cross the border. What lying liars these scum are.
We have always had to separate some kids out for verification and so on. This has been going on for years. Not all these kids are with their actual parents and even ones who are can get raped. Several months ago, I posted about bloody children's underwear south of the Tucson sector. It's not safe walking kids up here, it's just not. To pin this all on Trump or Sessions isn't right.
