the embassy should have been moved to Jerusalem years ago
modern Israel, where the former Kingdom of Judea, where its capital was.....Jerusalem, the city of David. And the first Temple was built by David's son, King Solomon
Jerusalem was the capita of Israel/Judah/Judea, 3000; 2000; and all the way up to 1400 years ago when the barbaric Muslims (moors)(around 610 AD) when the criminal Mohammad invaded
The UN had no right to divide the city, just as Berlin should not have been a divided city, by FDR, Churchill, and Stalin...... but that is the way they thought in the 1940's
Under a 1995 law, the president is required to move the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem unless, citing national security concerns, he signs a waiver, which has to be renewed every six months.
he, like every President since 1995 (Clinton), has been DIRECTED to do this, or to sign a waver....EVERY 6 MONTHS
The first time he faced that decision, in June, Mr. Trump chose to signed it (the waiver), being new and waiting for better intell.
I mentioned it before and I'll mention it again. Constantinople, the holiest city in Orthodox Christendom, has been under Muslim rule for over 500 years. I don't see Muslims protesting against that injustice or offering to relinquish control over that territory. Even the Greeks, who tried to take it back, have since relinquished their claim to it and accepted Turkish rule. I don't see Greeks going on rampages over this.
Why is it such a big deal if one country decides to move its embassy? Does it suddenly entirely invalidate East Jerusalem as a future capital? Nicosia is the capital of both Cyprus and the Turkish controlled North Cyprus.
It doesn't need to benefit the taxpayer. Read my above comment to understand what I'm getting at.
