It's what everybody is already used to! Why change what appears to be working? More "thoughts and prayers" go out, and then the 2nd amendment people go to the gun stores for more guns and ammo! Then they rationalize that at least those poor students "went home to GEEEZUS" and "God only knows what worse fate was in store for them, had they lived!". Rinse ...repeat!

You MISSED a VERY IMPORTANT step.
So, I will include it, " More "thoughts and prayers" go out, and then the "the anti gun nuts, which include the liberal media, goes out and DEMANDS MORE GUN RESTRICTIONS and the banning of certain guns even if that type of gun was NOT used, "THEN 2nd amendment people go to the gun stores for more guns and ammo" to stock up BEFORE those restrictions an bans go int affect.

Quit calling for more ukuleles laws, restrictions and bans, and gun owners will STOP stocking up as history has shown.
Who is going to go around to enforce this law though, or to ensure homeowners are being truthful when they buy insurance?
If they raised the age to 21 to own a gun, then would have to up the age for people to enter the military then too.
We have to address the source of this, whats causing it to happen...IMO, that is Govt, trying to change public opinion about guns to their benefit. Our founding fathers warned us about such govts and how they would try to usher in tyranny, but its up to us to actually recognize it when it happens and put a stop to it. Govt should be removed from power immediately.

Where divorce wasn't haste and parents worked their problems out for the sake of their kids?
Discipline was a thing?
Kids didn't have videogames/Internet and meds to keep them preoccupied?
Kids had a sense of purpose, manners, morals, values?
Where kids could stand up to their bully/aggressor and not be punished for it?
Rather than seek an adult in the room to solve their problems?
Where parents did stuff with their kids rather than be the kids ATM and entertainment director?
Everything that's been discouraged over the last 20/25 years?

But ...those "Gun Restrictions" never get passed! So we are left with more guns and ammo and ultimately, ... more mass shootings. Just how many guns did Obama confiscate? I want numbers!

The only reason that Obama didn’t confiscate any guns was because the Republicans stood in his way.

I think maybe the society in the US needs to stop and think for a second, if what we are doing is really "progressing and improving" if there is a serious need/desire for armed security at all schools, hell, many schools have them now, in addition to the other security means.
We measure society's progress based on material measures, but perhaps that is not the best or only significant factor that it should be measured by.
I sure as hell do not think society is positively going forward if we need to have threatcon delta level security at every venue.

No, the part of Govt responsible for this kind of thing, is well above party lines, its in place despite which party is in office at the time. Kind of like the war on drugs, its in effect no matter which party has the majority at any one time.
