Yes, Ive seen police threaten and intimidate someone into giving them permission to search their car at a traffic stop. When the driver initially refused the police used all kinds of threats and intimidation, well, maybe we call a drug dog to the scene, we can still detain you for being suspicious, etc etc.
They are trained to do this sort of thing, that is a problem imo!
I think once a person rejects them, they need to immediately leave the scene and not permitted to try to intimidate people.
.........
Phase II.
Be careful what you wish for because you have to realize that the crooks will use the same techniques that the innocent will to have the cops leave them alone.
If, as you say, "once a person rejects them, they need to immediately leave the scene and not permitted to try to intimidate people", that were the law, you better believe that the crooks will try to find any way to use that to their advantage.

This is exactly what happened here. They did a breathalyzer on her twice. She passed both times. They had NO probable cause to hold her so she was legally allowed to walk away.

Well, not quite.
The breathalyzer said, perhaps, that she was not drunk or that she had no alcohol in her system. Let's say it did on both counts, that is what is meant when it said "she passed". Okay, that suspicion is neutralized.
We still have the can of beer in her possession on a beach where no alcohol is allowed. We have a different suspicion at hand.

no probable cause.....????
no alcohol (open or unopened) allowed on the beach BY ANYONE
she HAD been drinking, UNDERAGE, was not YET drunk(according to a breathalyzer ), but still impaired... …. underage drinking, in possession, at a beach where it is illegal..... that itself is a crime..and breaks her probation
she IS on probation, and by NJ law MUST show ID, refusing is breaking her probation...
she IS on probation, and by law is not supposed to associate with anything illegal, like an underage person hanging out with others illegally drinking on the beach....does not matter if she is physically in possession of the beer or one of her associates is,...…...under this situation, is breaking her probation...
she assaulted the LEO's... which is breaking her probation.....
the trailer trash needs to go back to jail

Woman should have shut up and went along to go along.
Cops should have understood that the level of the crime did not call for "dropping" a skinny woman in a bikini that was not going to hurt anyone else.
It reminds me of high speed chase where innocents or even the driver (or cops) could die because they were chasing someone with a bad tail light. Sometimes you just have to let it go, eh?
It's the beach...and, lawful or not, people bring drinks. Sure, the cops have to keep some lid on but they could have let that one get away or impounded everything she left there and then let her come to the station after it (or lose it).
Sometimes common sense is in order. Many a cop has made a good decision to let a perp go.

"The crooks" are generally not jaywalking nor sitting in bathing suits with a tent on a popular NJ beach on a holiday weekend.
The cops should have just let her walk away and got her some other time - impounded the stuff there if they felt like it. No reason to use brutal force to "drop" a perp on small charges.
Of course, she should have went along in the first place....but that's another story.
It's not like she had stabbed someone or anything....cops have to learn about the degrees of crimes and not make molehills into mountains.

What you must remember is that the Town of Wildwood Police and the NJ state police didn't get there till after the three stooges took her down and were hitting her(closed fist) on the back of her head. They were rental cops and should have just waited till the real police arrived.
