"The crooks" are generally not jaywalking nor sitting in bathing suits with a tent on a popular NJ beach on a holiday weekend.
The cops should have just let her walk away and got her some other time - impounded the stuff there if they felt like it. No reason to use brutal force to "drop" a perp on small charges.
Of course, she should have went along in the first place....but that's another story.
It's not like she had stabbed someone or anything....cops have to learn about the degrees of crimes and not make molehills into mountains.

What you must remember is that the Town of Wildwood Police and the NJ state police didn't get there till after the three stooges took her down and were hitting her(closed fist) on the back of her head.They were rental cops and should have just waited till the real police arrived.

One. You don't need probable cause. All you need is reasonable suspicion. A traffic stop is a detainment and a detainment is initiated when the officer has reasonable suspicion that you're about to, in the process of, or just committed a crime or infraction.
