Extremely suspicious when they withhold basic characteristics of the shooter.
Funny though, there was a time when the Middle East was romanticized, and consider a haven for the wealthy. None of this terrorism seemed to exist until oil was found.

That is very common for the first day or two after an event like this in Canada. Not extremely suspicious that things are not done exactly like it is in the States. For one thing it limits the amount of false information that gets released. For example the shooter could have been from Lebanon or Syria and still be a Christian. Or black and from Nigeria, Caribbean, States or born in Canada. Or he could be part first nations, part black and part English in his ancestry.
Or if it is gang, domestic random or terrorism. Interesting that some are already jumping on it as a terrorist attack.
I don't remember ever reading that a shooter was white unless there is a racial component aspect to the event. Usually the name, race and religion or citizenship is not mentioned right after a shooting event until a day or two of investigation, if at all. And none of our most notorious killers have ever been labelled white even though there were. Look for an article that labelled Robert Picton as white. Sorry that you feel whites are always the victims of racism.
And the population of Canada is very "significantly lower" than the US also.
Homicide RATE. Not total number of homicides. Homicide rate takes population into account.
