Agreed, but liberals don’t understand what’s going on

The internet has equalized things. Now all a poor kid from India needs is some motivation, internet access, YouTube videos, online coding courses or online formal classes, and bam he’s a motivated educated coder applying for a sweet H1 visa to America for cheap.

While the college grad coder in America gets laughed at by employers for needing a higher salary to pay off college debt.

Or just do what Apple does, relocate the whole damn manufacturing network to China. Granted, that helps keep the cost of an iPhone low, but it also costs American jobs.

This is American capitalism at its ugliest, when it no longer benefits the American people.

I wonder internet equalizes things in only one part of the world. The same poor white or black guy can also get a job with an internet connection, boot camp right? You even have free libraries with the internet. He won't even need a visa right??

You don't get how this works.

The Indian immigrant community is HIGHLY networked. They live near each other. They socialize only with themselves. They look out for their own...and only their own. Now that they have such a strong foothold in the industry and many of them are in positions of authority, they have the ability to restrict recruitment and hiring to their own community.

Do you think a poor white or black American would have that kind of advantage? Nope. All they'd get is doors slammed in their faces. You know it and I know it.

Plus...a "fresher" from India who learned VERY basic C# or Java from YouTube will have a fake resume with a bogus degree that is harder to discredit...plus, he'll be able to pay someone to stand in on his Skype interview (yes, this happens). On paper, he'll look like a more impressive candidate.

Kevin Yoder (R-KS) is single handedly screwing over American workers. Its called HR 392.

His new proposal which if voted into law in the lame duck session removes green card caps. Diversity in america is over, and all immigrants to America will be from India.

American workers are going to get screwed... especially new grads. Its amnesty for corporations. The sad part is ... no media coverage... and Trump seems oblivious as he just endorsed yoder on twitter.

Only in America do our politicians put the needs of foreigners first, and ignore americans. Yoder is such corrupt filth that even if he loses his race (which he might)... he's still going to follow through because Indian Tech firms have alot of cash waiting for him once he enters the private sector.

I am not saying about networking or getting a job. I am pointing to the educational aspect. H1B needs a masters' degree or an engineering to get a foot into those big IT companies. To grant a visa, DHS runs a thorough background check on people. That's the long route at least I took and many other took .

There are Andhra guys though, who dont give a damn about law where ever they go. Probably you are seeing too much of them.

That 392 joke wont happen. Per country limit is there for a reason. Any sane person wouldnt approve it, since it gives undue advantage for a country.

BS. An H1B only needs a bachelor's degree. A master's degree from a US university lets you double-dip in the H1B lottery but it is by no means required.

DHS runs background checks on people. They cannot (and do not) verify everyone's credentials.

I don't know how it is where you are, but around here (DFW), most of our H1Bs are from Andhra Pradesh or Telangana and are below average when it comes to overall competence. Maybe one out of ten is average or better than average.

They require a 16-year education ( 12+4). Only Engineering, law and medicine are 4 years degrees in India..Liberal arts and sciences are awarded in 3 years.

In fact, they are not even in authority positions in Indian IT Companies. Many of them are running their own bodyshopping business which helps scam the system blatantly .

Not according to USCIS, which does not specify a minimum number of years of education:

Generally speaking, you can earn a bachelor's degree from a UK university in 3 years too, yet those count as a foreign equivalent.

What's your point?

The point is that you cannot get a developer job with bootcamp or youtube coding videos. You need to cram in 40 courses in 4 years and study subjects like electronics, discrete math, data structures, communication principles, circuit theory to get into IT. And finally end up doing application support and remedy mostly.
