Way to get in one of the Democratic and anti-gun groups talking points "common sense". We have plenty of common sense gun laws already on the books, but the funny thing about criminals and the mentally deranged.
They tend to not give a flip about them. Thus it is the law abiding citizens who are impacted the most.

Regardless, the NRA still supports a few (D's) and use to support many more back when many were not leftist kooks.

That isn't how it works...

The NRA would have to register itself as a bank? Is that what you're suggesting?
They would have to register as an insurance company too?

Guess you didn't read the Bloomberg source I cited...

It is not a lie democrats want to eliminate gun rights.
Is there any common sense in focusing on firearms and arbitrary features of a firearm? I've yet to see it.

Choosing to ignore criminal acts, is still ignorance. Yet. You want to make criminal offenses out of
"High capacity magazines"
"Collapsible stocks"
"Flash hiders"
"Bayonet lugs"
And that is all common sense how?

The most restrictive legislation passed up until recently was passed by democrats.
Today it's been Rinos.

FDR-NFA of 1934.
LBJ-GCA of 1968.
William Hughes-Hughes amendment snuck into FOPA of 1986 and did not get a manual vote count but a verbal count. Signed by Reagan.
Clinton-AWB of 94.

Why don't I hear mention of the millions of guns that are "lost" , "Stolen", "Waylaid" or otherwise sold to the underground? The VAST majority of these are by "pillars of the community" including gun dealers, traders, owners, etc...
Same with "straw purchases" (wink win) and many other outlets to make money from more and more and more....not good enough just for an honest citizen to own a firearm, it has to be big business of "dealing".

It's like the Opiate Crisis. Perdue Pharma knew that 10X the amount of opiates needed were headed out of their factories. But...as long as they had some cover for it...hey, back up the truck and load up!

The supposed "good guys with guns" really seem to ignore the problems that many of them cause. It's not by accident that MILLIONS of guns end up in Mexico and the streets of our cities and in the hands of those who couldn't pass a simple background check.

The NRA, by its silence on these matters (and the want of profits for their masters, the gun makers) doesn't seem to care. Hey, it's good for more sales because now the decent folks have to buy more guns to protect themselves against the underground guns....

Gimme a break. A vast number of gun owners are criminals....they just don't get caught. In many states you don't even have to report lost guns. Guess what? Humans being humans they lose a lot of them.....

Only 11 states require reporting a lost or stolen gun according to this:
https://www.thetrace.org/2017/11/sto...-requirements/

That doesn't count the straw purchases.....

All together they represent many millions of guns...everywhere...

And WE are the kooks? No. I think those who allow and finance (through the NRA) millions of underground guns to be traded all over our country and even outside it....are the Kooks.

The NRA could dissolve tomorrow and folks will still own and buy their guns. Liberals are far too late when it comes to trying to stop gun ownership. It's back to the drawing board for them.

Hah....Let me guess...

A "good conservative" like Rick Scott instantly becomes a RINO when he passes gun restrictions, right?

I can assure you he is still a conservative since he's allowing Florida to lose billions due to the environmental nightmare (algae) which he has caused....

No big problem there - but if you notice, a lot of the abhorrent big deal mass shootings and other such situations are committed by people who didn't have their guns for years. Many just go out and buy them specifically to arm up to kill as many people as possible.

If better background checks and other methods slow down these mad men, it would reduce the rate of gun violence. These things are common sense and if we "only" reduced it 20%, that would mean saving thousands of lives per year here and 10's of thousands in Mexico.

NRA promotes responsible gun ownership. Getting rid of the NRA would make people less safe. It won't stop anyone from buying a gun. Sounds like businesses are buckling to boycott threats. Boycotts work both ways though. NRA should publish a list of who those people are.

You know, fiscal conservatism!

Or, they can send out some "fear" emails and mailings and double their membership fee.
That should do it.
