a sympathizer for whom? i believe in freedom of religion, and thus if a persons religion requires that animals be put down in a certain manner in order for the meat to be kosher, or halal, then that is their right according to their religion.
i am also no animal rights activist, and i also believe that we should treat or animals humanly, including putting them down for slaughter, as long as we are not stepping on religious toes.

I am not a liberal, but I have actually read the Qu'ran. Something you obviously cannot say you have done, given your statements here. ISIS is a perversion of Islam. Not it's purist form. Alawites are the purest form, a tiny minority, but the purest form. They believe only in the Qu'ran, not the suhhah and hadiths.

Islam also says "kill the infidel beside you," "strike the head and hand from the unbeliever," and "fight the infidel until the end of time." Does this then mean that Msulims have a right to kill non-Muslims because of "freedom of religion?"
Don't be simple-minded. Freedom of religion does not give you the right to break existing laws. What is being described here is obvious animal cruelty. What is more, it is viscerally disgusting. Anyone perpetrating it or defending it should be ashamed.
