They are snakes acting like they are free market capitalists.

How would they know that the day would come and they would lose their great job? People do get laid off, and often times its not so easy to find an equivalent job.
^^^^^ The above is irrelevant to the part of your post that I was replying to. You were mentioning a living wage in general, not in reference to someone who lost a higher paying job, and desires a higher wage floor that would be helpful if (and that is a big if) that higher wage floor didn't make that job less likely to exist.

No, I would plan on how to supplement it, knowing when it ended, it would be capped, assuming I was gone from the D3. You get the vested value. But all of us should fully understand how viable (financially) our employers are.

You are living in fantasy land. The reason America has such problems with teenage births and social problems is precisely because of the appallingly weak social safety net. You are rooting for Latin Americanization of America, with the total elimination of the safety net, massive inequality, lots of starvation level drudgery jobs for the masses, social problems and out of control crime and corruption on a grand scale.

BTW, a caste system like exists in India is based on birth and religion. Is that really what you are saying is happening in the US? The US is the country most likely in the world to prevent that system. And you call ME obtuse?!

Yes, you are a smart person, but to suggest that people should drop having children because they think their employer might go bankrupt in ten years because they read some report or got scared by Rush talking about too big pensions or too many worker benefits, is just silly.

There are other options. Some wise D3 workers in the factories took advantage of D3 educational reimbursement programs, and jumped ship to new careers before the Titanic D3 sunk.

But the key is to know knowledge is power-and all publicly traded corps must post the quarterly reports I linked to, accessible for free.

That's what you say. But if women weren't being given welfare to be single and have kids, maybe they would not and would get married and have two incomes and only children they can afford like others do. The whiter parts of latin America do better than the less. You are wanting to make America to be more like the less white parts of latin America.

What are you talking about?

Just look at the teenage birth rates in America compared to other developed countries. Its through the roof. Doing the opposite of what other civilized societies do and eliminating the public safety net will just make it that much worse.
