The concept has been weaponized as a political tool. Here's a clue:Just because I disagree with your politics, doesn't mean that I hate you. Just because I disagree with weak immigration policies, sanctuary cities, etc doesn't mean that I hate Hispanics. The hyperbole has been overblown and over used .
America isn't buying your charges of racism, sexism, misogyny, etc anymore. Is there any chance of coming back from this sea of perpetual nonsense? Or are we doomed to an Orwellian future?
I don't know how you felt about Obama, but if you would like to know how this much "hate" came about, just take a look at the last few decades. The hate started when the GOP decided to go after Bill Clinton with bile and venom like we never saw before. (Fun fact--Kavanaugh was involved with viciously going after Clinton).

Then we'll move on to the Gore/Bush race. Bush did not win and everyone knows it. The SCOTUS appointed him after that witch Katherine Harris (Bush BFF) forced the end of the count in Florida. George Bush DID NOT win the popular vote.

Then Obama won both the electoral and popular vote twice. And the right did not like it. McConnell and his cabal decided their highest priority was blocking Obama at every turn and making him look as bad as they possibly could. Lots of hate started at Obama's inauguration (the one that was bigger than Trump's) and the Tea Party obstructionist and haters just came on full force with HATE for 8 years.

Now we have yet another mimbo who was not elected by the majority of the people, acting like a dictator and a very ignorant one at that. Maybe the majority is simply sick of having a smaller group of mostly rural people in the minority making a lot of bad rules that affect the majority.

Now they want to talk about hate? After they've been at it for decades?

I despise (call it whatever you like) Trump and MiniMe unapologetically. They do not represent most Americans. Trump is governing for 25% of the country and the rest of us don't like having a moron who is also a pig of a man attempting to run the country. Thank god for Anonymous.

So what left wing talking head hate is a product of right wing hate?

You have 3 Americas 1) 10% that hate no matter what 2) 10% that love no matter what 3) 80% that are Joe Blows and don't care, they are just living their lives and are neutral.

You're always going to have a fringe aspect to politics. Don't let it worry you. Things are going to be just fine as long as the 80%'s don't change their minds. Which they won't.

Progressives never use words correctly. Hate is an emotion. It’s not a policy or an opinion.

Good to know.

Thousands of people died on battlefields over several wars to keep freedom of expression just that...free. Which means the right to free speech, peaceful protest, and even the right to not stand and sing a song or salute a flag just because others want them to sing it and salute it. Let freedom ring! "Taking a knee" demonstrates the very freedoms that were fought for since this country was started. First Amendment reigns! No butthurt is going to take away fundamental rights and freedoms.

Some people say that the powers that be are pulling strings here, all in an effort to divide and keep everyone at others necks. The upper 1 percenters that work the magic behind the scenes.

I used to think that that was all hogwash, but lately I'm really starting to wonder. The more we fight and not pay attention to how crap is really being ran, the more power these pigs behind the scenes wield.

Paranoid?? I don't know.

Hate is another tool in the separate and divide tool kit.... perhaps??

More to the point of the thread, yes people are far to quick to attached that word to things.
