There is something more to this we are not being told. The sanctions on Iran have pushed oil prices up, which means more money for Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries. At the same time Trump is asking the Saudis to pay more for military protection and they said NO WAY. One more thing that I find suspicious is that the photos taken of the men that traveled to Istanbul in private jets were from the airport and hotel, not going into the embassy.

What's your reaction to Trumps statement, if they are none of our business why are we sending military aid.

“The Saudis will keep killing civilians and journalists as long as we keep arming and assisting them,” Senator Rand Paul, Republican of Kentucky, said on Twitter on Thursday. “The President should immediately halt arms sales and military support to Saudi Arabia.”

But Mr. Trump quickly made clear he would not.
“What good does that do us?” Mr. Trump asked, speaking to reporters midday in the Oval Office.
“I would not be in favor of stopping a country from spending $110 billion — which is an all-time record — and letting Russia have that money and letting China have that money,” Mr. Trump said, referring to an arms deal with the Saudis, brokered last year, that the president has said will lead to new American jobs."

Every now and then Rand Paul is right on the money.

Post ‘It’s not a citizen’: Trump telegraphs a soft line on Jamal Khashoggi -- even as evidence becomes more damning

https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...-saudi-arabia/

Paraphrasing what someone said, he's still a human being with permanent residency in the US, with 4 American children and a job with a well known news organization. The basic decency we should expect from our leaders isn’t going to happen until someone in the GOP grows some character balls. Time to turn this around is waning.

What do you want, a war? Trump has been stronger with Iran, China, NK and other adversaries than Obama ever was. We just secured the Pastor from Turkey, it’s crazy to think Trump doesn’t take this stuff seriously

why does it gotta jump to war? Like with Putin, Trump doesn't put his foot down.

Doesn't mean war, just means that we call them out on their bs. Just because you stand up to someone doesn't mean your trying to fight, but they'll think twice. Because they don't want war either.

I know my dad would be saying Obama has no balls if this was under his administration.

You are obviously ignoring why it was important for Pence and Trump to put pressure on Turkey to release the pastor (and I am not saying Trukey was right to do what it did) and ignore the murder of a MUSLIM journalist writing critical articles about the Crown Prince of a nation putting millions into Trump's pocket
The pastor was a rally point for the evangelical movement-a group Trump and Pence really need to have behind them at the midterm--
I wonder what they offered Turkey to have him released before the MidTerms vs after or at all---
They could care less about a Muslim journalist because they don't want to figh with the Saudis over something as they could care less about..

https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2018/10/12/m...ntl/index.html

That article says that he turned on his Apple Watch and recorded his own murder by the Saudi hit team to his IPhone (in hands of his fiancé) and to his ICloud account--
He likely KNEW something like this could happen if he went into that consulate
Or at least thought he would be taken prisoner and cargoes to Saudi Arabia so he wanted a record of what happened...

To IGNORE that they did to this man is worse than separating families and children at the border or any of the other abuses of power Trump and his admin are doing every day
This IMO is why Nikki Haley resigned from UN
She knew Trump would not treat this with the severity it deserves and she is trying to wash her hands of being tied to the taint...
