Mix in multiple hot summers, multiple years of drought (with a couple of very wet winters, growing the vegetation up, and then drying right out), and wet seasons that are starting later than historical averages - and you have a recipe for fire that is hard to control, even if you were spending the amount of money that should be spent.
There's no room for logic here. That's for communists!

Nowhere did Obama use threat of death and distruction as leverage. Simply put, it was mismanaged. From what I read in the link, it seems a lot the blame lies on the part of the ambiguous request by Perry and Texas, and also the Feds should have recognized what was going on, and overlooked Perry's incompetence, and just taken care of people on the ground. Shared blame. (not the same as "I have you over a barrel, and I'll use it for leverage" that you are seeing today.)

What is truth? The reality is Obama used gangster tactics on Texas in the past without the press jumping down his throat. It’s about selective memory and bias in folks.

They really do need to look into thinning the forests that are prone to fire, which would create lots of tangible lumber jobs.

With the shortage of lumber that business and construction firms had to deal, it would be a good time for the federal government look into thinning fire-prone forests.

This is going on far to long and it's partly because of the radical left and it's environmentalist agenda.
Holy Dunning Krueger Batman! It’s not timberland. It’s scrub forest. No utility for lumber.

That article indicated Texas received $23M compared to $3M for Oklahoma, where do you get “gangster tactics”

There are no forests where these fires are. These are residential areas. Instead of castigating CA he should be going there to see about the poor folks affected by the fires. But no. He hates CA and will just sit home and tweet his idiotic sentiments. What a piece of crap POTUS he is. He doesn't even realize that he is the POTUS for everyone in the US, not just his loyal followers.

I believe Colorado has some mitigation grants to help off set costs of dead tree/scrub/grass removal. I know people really try and clear woody vegetation from around their cabins. We were almost fire victims ourselves last summer. Some of the forests are an accident waiting to happen. I have no proof, but I get the feeling Colorado is doing a better job, or trying to do a better job, of managing the fuel than California.

It feels like the president is at war with the country.

Many people and animals have died. Some were burnt alive in their cars. Some just got out and ran through what they described as a 'hellscape.'

Many more have lost their homes and everything in them. This has been a devastating disaster and the people being affected are AMERICANS. Not Californians or the left or whatever.

This is part of the country. These are Americans. And the idiot president of the USA is using this massive tragedy to act like an immature bully?

There is something mentally off about Donald Trump. He's just off.

Google the difference between brush fires and forest fires. Please.

As per usual, Trump is acting like a jackass.

A normal president would show some sympathy for those that died in the fire and a few hundred thousand that are homeless, instead we got this.

It's so heartbreaking, isn't it? And many of his supporters appear to be as heartless as he is.
