They really do need to look into thinning the forests that are prone to fire, which would create lots of tangible lumber jobs.

With the shortage of lumber that business and construction firms had to deal, it would be a good time for the federal government look into thinning fire-prone forests.

This is going on far to long and it's partly because of the radical left and it's environmentalist agenda.

Hard-Working ranchers, farmers, manufacturers and tradesman in middle-America shouldn't have to be paying additional taxes because of the states ultra-extreme environmental agenda.

Dear @realDonaldTrump: What is wrong with you? Disaster victims deserve help & sympathy.

Oh, and guess who owns much of the forest land in CA? Your federal agencies. CA only owns 2%. Guess who cut funding to forest management in the budget? YOU DID.

Shows what a complete idiot and moron this man is. Trump has absolutely no clue. Drought is the leading cause of forest fires. Yes forest mismanagement back in the 60's, 70's and 80's didn't help but years of drought is what has caused this. So if a forest fire in Texas burns houses what has happened during droughts, would he hold funds from them too? What a freaking moron this man. Next think you know he will threaten to withhold funds in Hurricane prone areas.

From what I have read -- The areas burning in Southern California aren't even forests. It's chaparral and coastal sage scrub. Invasive plants and the urban-wildland interface are mostly to blame.

But even if it is poor forest management -- which is debatable -- what a callous, heartless comment at a time when Americans are in danger and losing everything they have.

He's disgusting.

Idiots want money for windmills, bullet trains, every kind of "green" crap...
...and won't take care of their own

These fires are way too common for them to not have the equipment, on hand, and ready to go....to at least try to stop them before they get this big

Pretty much idiocy. Does he really think Paradise is buried in forest?

These are not potentially harvest-able areas. They are mostly grass and scrub and lightly treed.

And it is hard to see what you could do other than build fire proof/resistant buildings. Fire breaks are not going to work. These things can spread fire over a half mile.

He needs to shut his trap and get off Twitter at a bare minimum. This is not how you lead. Ignorant.

Did he say anything with all of the Utah fires about how horrible the fires are and it's all their fault? No. Gee, I wonder why not.

I dont support any president being so partisan. And save any comments about past presidents...I mean it for them too and for future.

What equipment might you have in mind to stop a wildfire starting in ~40-60 mph winds?

Not really workable. They simply spread too fast once started. One fire may well get another hundred going in the time it takes the fire men to get there. And the firemen need great care working down wind...the fire under these conditions can overrun them.

I agree--since the election, he has acted more piggish than he normally does. He is such an ass--and basically a really crappy human being.

That clip of him telling a reporter she was stupid was one of the most revolting words and behavior coming from a so-called president. And that is all he will be--a phony president who acts like thug.

Only he's not a thug--he's a baby. Donny could not go to the WWI ceremony and commemoration with the rest of the leaders because it was raining!

So he can't walk, go up stairs and melts in the rain. MAGA--get an umbrella!
