Germans did not cause. The German government did. The language you use is dehumanizing. Why is a German toddler in Dresden responsible for the actions of the German government? Firebombing, and he dies. You say you have no sympathy? Where is your humanity?
Hate the government, not the subjects! I agree, every single high ranking member of the Nazi government should have been placed in prison for the rest of their lives (I'm against capital punishment).
There is a mermorial plaque at the right entrance of Dresden-Neustadt station which is a constant a reminder of the Neustadt freight yard's role in the Jewish Holocaust. Dresden was a strategic rail junction and was an important military rail target, communication centre and had a role in transferring jewish civilians to camps such as Auschwitz.
Did a Jewish toddler deserve to be taken to such a camp, did a British Tiddler deserve to be bombed in Coventry or during the Blitz, did Japanese toddlers deserve to die in Hiroshima or Nagasaki, dis Russian toddlers deserve to be straved to death, did Polish toddlrs deserve to suffer under the Nzi jack boot etc etc.
Lots of terrible things often happen in all out war, however in the case of Germany and indeed her people who generaly fought and even oversaw the execution of millions in camps at home, they reaped what they sowed.

This is false equivalency. This is like saying because someone from Clan A killed my little cousin, I get to kill their little cousin (who is not responsible for the killing). We agree that this form of vendetta is barbaric and has no place in modern society, yet you weakly articulated a defense of it here.

During a war that is what happens, especially an industrialised war on a massive scale.
That's the nature of war.
Nobody ever said war was fair or just.
Even today the Russians launched nuclear missiles at the US, the US would hit back, and there would be lots of civilians including toddlers killed, and it would probably not have anyting to do with most civilians, such is war.
In terms of WW2 Destruction, Soviet Artillery reaked much more destruction than allied ar bombings in relation to Germany.
In terms of total destruction, the B-29 fire raids on Japan wreaked much more havoc than the two A-bombs combined (which included burning out sixteen square miles of Tokyo in one night).
And talk about irony, I don't know if there still talks about it, I saw that article from the NYT dated from May 2016 telling why Vietnam wants US soldiers back? Answer: China! https://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/20/w...m-embargo.html
In WWII we were on the same side as the Communists. In Viet Nam we were against them.
