Did you see the news today? Air traffic controllers are now calling off because they are not getting paid. Workers processing tax return refunds are calling off because they can't afford gas to ge to work. It's disrupting our entire country! Plus, by thousands of workers not getting paid it's hurting OUR economy!

It's not about the left or the right, it's about common sense! Trump will not get re-elected over this, he dug his own grave. He could have went about it a better way! Yes, securing our country is important, but what Trump did was act like a child because he was not getting his way!

Such a master dealmaker.

I don't think he'll attempt a shut down again.

I think he'll attempt to declare a state of emergency, which even Truman was unable to accomplish.

But yes, we'll be revisiting his demand for money to build the wall.

He creates a false crisis & emergency and shuts down the Government for over a month yet gets NO MONEY for his WALL !

...
This is a huge loss for Trump. He tried to hold the nation hostage and lost.

Wonder if it will be big loss for Republicans. Will people remember that they backed this BS?

This largely depends on whether Trump gives the STU on on the 29th. If he gives that speech at most it's a draw. I'm taking a wild guess he agreed to three week reprieve with the understanding the speech would be held. Assuming that is the case this would also indicate Pelosi has resigned herself to offering some funding for the wall because this is not something she would give up for a three week reprieve.

Pretty much. There’s no win until a deal is reached. This is just a temporary time out so approval ratings don’t plunge further and the consequences don’t keep getting worse in the news.
