Money trumps morality for many Republicans, trump included.

It's true for most of both parties.

I think he showed himself to be a horrible negotiator by backing himself into an unwinnable position. In the process he damaged the lives of millions of Americans, hurt the economy, and showed himself to be an idiot.

I am surprised that he finally came to his senses and ended his shutdown as the only side I've seen of him is that of a fool.

He lost this latest battle. I foresee lots more losing over the next two years without Ryan there to bend over at every opportunity.

What section of the Constitution outlines the Speaker of the House's right to demand anything of the President?

I'll check back for your reply.

Federal workers didn't lose their jobs. They were either furloughed or told to keep working without pay. Surely you understand the difference.

Also, Nancy’s decision to not negotiate with terrorists (which I-1 was being) is protecting me and other feds like me who will be subject to I-1’s shutdown whims for his entire term. If she gives in, he will do I again and again. Next time, it could be a full government shutdown, and I’d be impacted.

So, for this, I am very grateful for Nancy Pelosi’s decision.
Absolutely! Pelosi knew exactly what the bully was doing...

Pelosi also made clear that by giving in to Trump’s attempts to blackmail her in order to get his way, she would just encourage him to use the same illegal and immoral tactic in the future.

Trump used this despicable cowardly tactic to not pay contractors in his private business dealings...

USA TODAY exclusive: Hundreds allege Donald Trump doesn’t pay his bills

The actions in total paint a portrait of Trump’s sprawling organization frequently failing to pay small businesses and individuals, then sometimes tying them up in court and other negotiations for years. In some cases, the Trump teams financially overpower and outlast much smaller opponents, draining their resources. Some just give up the fight, or settle for less; some have ended up in bankruptcy or out of business altogether.

Trump is scum.
