Actually, one of the first things that occurred to me was that an actual cookout - most people love cookouts - would have been perfectly fine, except, you know, that snowstorm they just had in D.C. Serving reheated fast food to guests, unless maybe it's for a child's party? Who does that? It's tacky, and if anyone else did it, all the Trump people who are cheering him here would agree that it's tacky.
A cookout would’ve been fun! He could have rented tents and plenty of those big outdoor heaters and made it kind of awesome. The food would have been of quality and hot, which is always nice.
And just what is wrong with fast food? I bet most of us eat at one of these restaurants at least once a week or do you dine on lobster and steaks?
Good American food
Good American food can be found at Girl & the Goat (in Chicago) or Hominy Grill (in Charleston, SC)...not at McDonalds.

, even found in other countries. When I was in Italy people ran to the nearest McDonald's for the freshest, like home, food.
I've had McDonalds in Norway (Oslo). I've even had McDonalds in Paris in a pinch because I was so hungry.
However, McDonalds in Italy is a tragedy.
It shouldn't be allowed .
It conjures up the image of someone trying to put the 85 octane gas that is available in New Mexico and some other states into a Lamborghini Aventador.
I've never eaten at a McDonalds while in Italy, and I never will.
I haven't been to a fast food place in quite some time but from what I see of prices I have to believe a local caterer would have been a better choice for little if any more $$$.
A local caterer would have been at least triple the cost.
But Trump's a billionaire. What's a thousand or so for a photo op with a bunch of grinning college football players?
There is being smart with money and then there is being cheap and this was CHEAP. And yes... EMBARRASSING
The sad thing is, it probably wasn't that cheap. That looked like a lot of food. I suspect he could have gotten a local outfit to cater for about the same price, or maybe even approached a culinary school about having the students prepare a meal.
For that matter, isn't there a Trump hotel in Washington? I bet it has a kitchen, too.
