Why not just televise it on Fox from the Oval Office. He would be sparing the rest of us the drama of his lies.

By the way the crowd at Trumps inauguration was actually the crowd waiting for Best Buy to open on Black Friday.

Oh, boy, an hour or so of Trump struggling to read a teleprompter, with no pomp and circumstances of the traditional SOTU, no fawning cultists randomly applauding his every inanity, no reason for him to preen and play to the cameras and the crowd. Even his most ardent supporters won't sit through that snooze fest.

Watching our barely literate president attempt to read is both sad and boring as all hell. Add in the habitual sniffling and snorting that curiously occurs whenever he is forced to try to read a teleprompter and Netfilx and Hulu will have record-setting viewership if the networks air it.

Let Lil' Donnie try to read to an empty room. Watching paint dry is more exciting.

Not happening in the House. Unless he lets government reopen.

THIS is why conservatives ran a smear campaign against Pelosi before she retook the gavel. Even they know she's a formidable opponent who knows how to hold her caucus together and stand her ground. Trump is used to dealing with bootlicker cowards like Paul Ryan. And now he's finding out that Nancy is no Paul Ryan.

You go, girl! The country is behind you.

Popcorn sales would explode, would they not?
It wouldn't be long enough to eat popcorn. But it would be entertaining.

There was a reason why people expected these sorts of shenanigans when the Democrats won the House. President Trump hasn't demonstrated a very keen understanding of our government. He clearly saw himself as a sort of king, who could demand whatever he wanted. And the previous House seemed loathe to explain the reality of our government to him.

The system is designed as a balancing act. That balance depends on tension between the branches. The executive branch, headed by President Trump is at odds with the legislative branch and the judicial branches. The legislative branch is at odds with the executive and the judicial branches. The judicial branch is at odds with the legislative and executive branches. They don't work for each other. They are independent from one another, and that independence is to be preserved at all costs.

The Representatives of the House don't work for President Trump. The Senators don't work for President Trump. Partisan politics might have disguised this, but the reality is that President Trump is going to have to negotiate, and that negotiation requires give and take on both sides. President Trump needs to realize that if he doesn't back down, the need of the people to have a government open and working will eventually outweigh him, and the Senate and the House can override him to get that government open again. McConnell may hold out for awhile, but in the end, McConnell has to protect his fellow Senators, not the President.

She sunk to Trump’s level.

Better for the House to host and hold all applause.
