If you think that's the reason that orange buffoon got elected then you clearly have not been keeping up. Voter apathy did more to get him elected than anything else. Why do you think Republicans are so desperate to keep people from voting? Because when voter turnout is high, they lose elections. Case in point: the 2018 midterms.

The apathy was brought on because of people like yourself. Those who put politics ahead of principles.

The Senate voted 68-23 to end debate on the amendment. A second vote will be held probably next week to add the amendment to the foreign policy bill.

Quote:
Asked what message the vote Thursday sent, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) said that it showed Congress is a “co-equal branch of government.â€

The non-binding amendment, spearheaded by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), warns the administration against a “precipitous†withdrawal of the U.S. forces in Syria and Afghanistan.

It also urges the administration to certify that certain conditions have been met “for the enduring defeat of al Qaeda and ISIS before initiating any significant withdrawal of United States forces from Syria or Afghanistan.â€

Rand Paul voted NAY. That Cornyn used that particular phrasing for a comment is interesting.

It's so weird the US senate does not say anything about presidents involving the US military impulsively in random countries like Syria but when it comes to withdraw, oh no, they need to pass this amendment of rebuke.

Just goes to show you that the US government is essentially powerfully controlled by the military industrial complex.

They never voted to go in. A president is supposed to get approval to go in. There is no requirement to get approval to leave when there was no approval to go in.

For what it's worth, the amendment is "non-binding." Your concern is the overall policy....

Still, that Cornyn (who almost certainly does not support wall building in Texas) chose to use the language he did in this very public manner may well be a signal about Senatorial intentions should there be another shutdown.

Nope. Sorry but I'm not assuming the blame here. It's people like you who assign blame to everyone but themselves that causes the problems. Trump is a master at it.

I'm standing on my principles here. If you want to place some sort of blame for me wanting us out of places we have no businesses being in, have at it. I'll own up to it all day.
