Not doing what a doctor recommends can get your house and family assaulted by the police, as well as get your kids taken from you and placed in foster care...right here in the United States.
The point is, “being gay” if you mean by partaking in same sex activities, yes it will get you stoned in Brunei per the article.
Many do not define ‘Being gay” as a sex act but instead, a feeling.
They are also stoning adulterers, as we agree and read.
By definition, this is someone who has participated in a sex act with another who is not their spouse
I am not on-board with labeling someone as “Gay” due to a feeling. Or "being gay"
I am not on-board with labeling someone as “A pedophile or Child molester” due to a feeling.
I am not on-board with labeling someone as “An adulterer” due to a feeling.
A feeling is not who we are or we are in grave danger as a society
Our actions define our personhood, it's who we are.
Clearly this is not alright. It goes against our moral compass as a society, it goes against the Bible, it goes against most other religions to I assume.
Your view makes no sense. Having sex is a big part of being human. Nor is it separate from feeling, they belong together. You can't feel homosexual and not want to have sex with someone of your own sex.
Nor do I share your mixing homosexuality, child abuse, and adultery as if they were all the same category.
Yesterday I read that it applies only to citizens who are Muslim. Not that that makes it any better, of course.
Fundamentalism is very dangerous.
Gay people are not the only focus, though. They're also stoning adulterers. How many here have been divorced and remarried or had a relationship after their divorce? According to the Bible, that makes you an adulterer... not sure about what the Koran says. The Christian Bible says that adulterers should be put to death. I'm glad that the United States is not a fundamental Christian nation, as that could become law here, too. Best to leave all religion out of politics/lawmaking.
Here it says it applies to everyone, not just Muslims. And the list of "crimes" and crazy sentences is longer. Thieves, for instance, can get their hands chopped off.
“It applies to Muslims, non-Muslim and foreigners even when on Brunei registered aircraft and vessels. Under this code some offences can attract physical punishment while others attract executions. Offences that attract the death penalty include blasphemy, sodomy, adultery, rape and murder,” the advice said."
