I don't think I'd let everyone know how ill-informed I am. But you do you.

the countries on the original ban list:

Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen.

the countries that wound up on the ban list:

Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, North Korea and Venezuela.

I've made it easy on you by bolding those that are in the top 10 of Muslim countries by population.

If you want to go by vastly majority population that is Muslim, you add: Libya, Syria, Yemen & Somalia - well-known terrorist countries.

Still of the top 10 countries by population, 9 are welcome in the US.

Georgia governor Brian Kemp and his voter suppression tactices.
https://www.vox.com/policy-and-polit...ation-cummings

By the way, I was in Georgia when Brian Kemp was Secretary of State, which basically means he was in charge of elections. He purged at least 1 million people from the voter rolls. He closed down over 200 polling stations, large numbers of them in predominantly Black areas.

There is Trent Lott. He has a history of being segregationist and has even expressed admiration for Strom Thurmond. Senator Trent Lott
https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/go...tor-trent-lott

Direct quote from Trent Lott himself : "I want to say this about my state. When Strom Thurmond ran for President, we voted for him. We're proud of it. (Applause) And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over all these years, either."

And there are other problems. I won't mince words. The Confederate flag is a racist symbol, period. Don't give me this bs about "southern heritage". The majority of Blacks are from the South, and none of them are claiming the Confederate flag as part of their southern heritage. This is because the Confederates reasons for secession were about keeping slavery and keeping Blacks in bondage. You can look this up in the Articles of Secession. I find it ironic that Democrats are referenced. Yes, Democrats of the 19th century were behind this. Today, the persons who are the most in favor of the Confederate flag are Republicans, in particular, Republicans from the South. Chris McDaniel of Mississippi campaigned featuring the Confederate flag. Notice how most Blacks were against him. And Mississippi is the Blackest state in the USA.

Yes, there are some decent Republicans out there. However, I notice that many Republicans that win do so by appealing to the anger of some White conservatives. Why would a Black person want to vote for that?
To be clear, I am not a dem or a rep nor am I trying to influence your vote, but I see racism in the dem party too and what I had been saying above was that aside from identity politics, many blacks seem to have more in common with conservative values.

What you said, true or otherwise, is so peripheral as to be moot. As I said, exceptions and exaggerations, do not good debate make.

I'm sure somewhere in the 300+ posts before this, someone will have trotted out the tired old "the Republicans freed the slaves!" which is stupid - because if the same people change "uniform", they're still the same people.

But i wonder about the converse:

Since the Dems can't win without the blacks voting in high numbers at a higher % than any other demographic, is it any surprise that they want the blacks to believe that the GOP is evil and racist?
Fair enough. What has made me respond like this are posts like this:

I'm not here to big-up the Democrats. My point was that for anyone who thinks Blacks should vote GOP, I can find plenty of reasons why many Blacks won't. Articles like what I posted are part of what many Blacks are talking about. Some people want to know why alot of Blacks see the GOP as racist. People like Trent Lott, Brian Kemp, George Allen, Frank Artiles, that is why.

This is the point. Conservative values aren't going to be enough when issues like voter suppression, police brutality and job discrimination are things you face more than other groups. Group identity will keep taking precendent until those issues are solved.

I played college football. If your on scholarship then your appearance is not voluntary. Every year I played I was required to take pictures with azzhole boosters for several hours at a fundraiser to ensure the big donors were happy. You really think LSU wouldn’t require the same for the Whitehouse?

I think people should support the opposing party especially in cities that are not improving. Look at many cities with high black population and they keep voting the same party or the same candidates. These are cities ran by democrats and the police still shoot and kill blacks even if the mayor or governors are democrats. Imagine if the mayor was Republican, then you'll see liberal media connect republicans with police shootings.

I didn't say the Democrats were doing that much. My question is to those who claim Blacks should support Republicans. Notice I never said I was pro-Democrat. The GOP hasn't shown to care about thoses issues either. Based on that, why should Blacks vote GOP?
