So how do you explain the increased murder rates in African nations that did not experience slavery? Do they suffer from "slavery PTSD" because they heard about what happened to fellow blacks sent to America?
At some point, one must accept personal responsibility for their lot in life and repeated excuses/rationalizations is the refuge of personal failure.
When one has failed, it is much easier to blame someone else than engage in introspection, as that requires some personal honesty and a will to improve. If one is simply a helpless "victim", it exhonerates one of any responsibility and need to improve- everything will be all better IF.............whatever perceived insult or transgression is eliminated or rectified.
I often hear liberals tout "diversity" as being a wonderful goal that is obviously advantageous to everyone. The term "diversity" has been highjacked from genetics, in which genetic diversity is favorable for adaptation, and applied to social interractions with the presumption that it provides the obvious benefit seen in evolution.
However, the least diverse nations tend to be the most productive, wealthy, and crime free, while those nations with extensive ethnic diversity suffer. Diversity brings about lack of cultural cohesion, confusion over multiple different languages, and strife among the different ethnic groups. Witness the Bosnian War and the multiple wars in Africa- all fought over "diverse" groups failing to get along. Japan is an excellent example of complete lack of diversity, yet they thrive.
My alma mater was in a town that was essentially 100% white (sans the college students). A literal communist city council woman and subsequent mayor sought to make the city more "diverse" and actively recruited citizens from Chicago to come to the town. The town is much more "diverse" today with a much larger ethnic population. However, crime has gone up 10X, there is a part of the town identified and a "no go" area, city wide test scores have declined in schools, and students from the university are periodically victimized by the "diverse" citizens.
I went to a highschool that as 50% black, 10% Hispanic, and 10% Asian. Whites were a minority in the school. Crime was rife in the school and violence was quite common; most groups socialized among themselves and did not interact at all. My kids went to a highschool that was 15% Black, 5% Asian, and 5% Hispanic- the balance white. They had more "minority" friends than I did in highschool and routinely interacted with all students. There was no crime in the school whatsoever.
I am wondering what is the touted advantages of "diversity", as I see more negatives than positives. I understand the goal and perceived benefit, but I rarely see that occur when implemented. Any thoughts?
Well, think about this, hawkeye. If America wasn't a diverse nation, you wouldn't be here. Unless your heritage is American Indian, your ancestors came from somewhere else, like Russia, Germany, Africa, etc, etc. How would you have felt if your grandparents were turned away at Ellis Island by some Trump lookalike , and forced to return back to where they were born ?

As a black conservative, forced racial diversity only hurts me. When people see me at work they may think I'm a racial quota or affirmative action slot.
Racial diversity needs to be natural, when you force it, disaster happens. Like people of color dropping or transferring out of their racial quota Ivy league slots because their high schools did not fully prepare them for the rigorous coursework of college.
As a black man, we are 14% of the American population so we will never be the majority anywhere in this country, yet liberals continue to shove this divisive racial crap down our throat.
They are more interested in pandering to and increasing the Hispanic population in American. As you said blacks will never reach the population numbers that Hispanics will especially with continued massive illegal immigration from them who are giving numerous births on our soil. It's all about votes with the liberal left and staying in power. They figure they've got the black vote all sewed up so they don't care about you anymore.
Secondly, two of those African nations were impacted by white apartheid policies, in other words, white oppression of blacks. The Congo has been at war, the result of global meddling for control of its rich resources, for decades now. That was my premise. That blacks are relatively peaceful where there is not a pronounced history of racial oppression.
Look at the black African nations whose murder rate is below that of the US. Keep in mind that the US is a mostly white nation and that the black homicide rate per capita in America is over 20 per capita. These nations are nearly all black.....

If anyone wants to succeed in this country just based on the science they need to do 3 things: 1) don't have children out of wedlock 2) finish high school 3) come from a family with 2 parents. Statistically, if those three things occur your chances of succeeding in life are ten fold.
I’m from Miami - I know nothing else but different everything. But, when I was a preteen my dad decided it was best to move to PA in a small town for a great job. By the time I was -17 I was going nuts. How often can we drive by the same horse in the center of town. The gossip was intense and by 18 we returned to Sfl . Closed minded people / didn’t like foreigners / they balked at any change in the city/ very small town mentality - nooo never again. Give me different foods, experiences, cultures, colors! Everyone wore black, beige, and white or light colors.

That does not address why African immigrants to America don’t behave as such, yet, they are MORE “black” than African Americans. Thus, its not race.

Much of life is what we are conditioned to. You apparently grew up in a town that was once predominately white, crime free, and most people spoke English.
Then good old Jimmy Carter decided to allow south Florida to become northern Cuba, just 90 miles away.
He promised to spread the refugees around the country, but most never made it past south Florida. Now they and other brown people from Central and South America dominate that city.
They engage is ethnic voting where virtually all politicians are Hispanic, and some smaller adjacent cities only speak Spanish. Hialeah for example has the highest Spanish speaking population in the entire country. Good luck trying to ask for something there if you only speak English.
Maybe you like being the small minority in a predominately different culture than your own (assuming you are white).
While Miami is a nice place to visit or catch a cruise out of, it is irrecoverably altered, with nary an apology from the Democrats for the lie Carter sold the America people on.

Different strokes for different folks. Some people like beige, respect that. They balked at changes because they like their lifestyle. Live and let live.
There is no excuse for ignorance. When you spend all your time with people who look ike you, think like you, worship like you, are in the same general economic class as you, that breeds ignorance. Funny thing about diversity. Humans are more alike to one another than they are different. It's just that the outward appearances stops some folks in their tracks. Ignorance.
The situation that you describes rarely exists. Even in small communities there is a lot of diversity. They may have a couple of traits in common but not many.and do you apply these standards to everyone equally? Do you worry about diversity in minority’s neighborhoods? I know that minority neighborhoods are mostly the least diverse and tolerant. Please do not make excuses for this lack of tolerance.
